READER 2: (Looking over his shoulder in disbelief.) Shucks, I was in the mood for one of his stories.
READER 1: (Turning off computer and also turning off lamp to save energy.) It just goes to show you can't trust that guy.
READER 2: (Fumbling in the dark and wishing READER 1 had remembered to light candles before turning off lamp.) Maybe he was busy.
READER 1: (Also fumbling in the dark but not looking for candles.) We could turn the computer back on and read somebody else's stories.
READER 2: (Lighting candles and not too upset by READER 1's fumbling.) Nah. I'm not in the mood to read about canings and righteous punishments.
