The eggman and the walrus took turns telling the story. First, when
John, Paul, George, and Ringo went to India, John took his walrus with him.
When the boys left India, John accidentally left his walrus behind. The walrus
went walking to find John.
The eggman then told his part of the story before meeting the walrus. The eggman, who is originally from Scotland, said that an American man that seemed nice wa visiting, picked up the eggman and took him home. After awhile, the man didn't want the eggman anymore, so he dumped the poor eggman on a deserted island and took off, never to be seen by the eggman again. Then one day, the walrus came to the island, and the eggman joined the walrus on his journey, and the took turns telling the story up to the point they knocked on John's door.
"Wow," George said after they had finished, "What a story."
"You don't have to worry now," Ringo said. "You're safe with us."
The eggman and the walrus smiled.
"I'm going to have to write a song about you two!" John exclaimed.
"Oh boy," George said. "Another weird song."
"Hey!" the eggman exclaimed, changing the subject. "Remember when I broke my shell in the plane aisle? Well, here's how you fix me." The eggman told the lads how he needed to be fixed.
"Well, what are we waiting for?!" John exclaimed. "Boxing day?!! Let's get to work!"
"O.K., Captain John!" Paul exclaimed.
Everyone laughed.
"I'll mix up the glue," Ringo said. "I'll paint, and Paul and George will brush the glue on," John said.
The lads marched into the kitchen and went to work. John put a base on the table and set the eggman on it. Ringo mixed up the glue and when he was done with that, he handed the bowl of glue and two brushes to Paul and George.
Paul and George set to work. "Don't move," Paul said to the eggman.
The eggman sat still as can be.
"Geez!" George exclaimed. "Eggman, you'll be as hard as a rock when we're donw with you and you're all dry!"
The eggman tried not to laugh.
A couple hours later when the eggman's glue was dry, John began painting him. He painted two nice, thin coats of paint on the eggman. When the eggman dried three hours later, John picked him up and set him on the floor. "Good as new," John announced.
"Thank you," the eggman said as everyone went into the living room
When everyone was in the living room, John went over to the walrus, picked him up, and handed him to Paul. "He's yours now," John said.
"Thank you," Paul said, a little surprised. "But why did you give him to me?"
"I gave him to you," John began, "as a gift for being such a wonderful friend all these years. You deserve something for that, so that's why I gave you the walrus."
Paul looked at the walrus and said, "Hi, I'm Paul. I'm your new owner. You'll be safe with me, and you can still visit John anytime you want, since the whole group lives in this house now."
"Hello, Paul," the walrus said.
John picked up the eggman and said, "I'm John. I'll be your owner-for life. I won't dump you on an island because I like you."
"Thank you," the eggman said.
"Now," John announced, "I'm going to write my song."
John went in a corner and began writing. In a couple hours, John had his song written, music and lyrics. He performed the somg for the other lads and the eggman and the walrus. The song was called "I Am the Walrus", and boy was it weird.
"I don't know about anyone else, but I liked the song," the eggman said.
"Me, too," the walrus agreed.
As for Paul, George, and Ringo, well, they thought it was kinda weird.
And that's how it went from then on. John wrote a few more songs about the eggman and the walrus, and the eggman broke his shell only twice after the lads memded it. The walrus visited with the eggman frequently, and they would have long discussions together. The lads visited with each ohter often and had long conversations together, too.
And so, John, Paul, George, Ringo, the eggman, and the walrus lived together happily after after.
