LINKS: here's some cool places to go!

The Beltones Streetpunk on BYO Records, these guys moved up to Gainesville from south Florida a couple years ago. RIP 2003.

The Beta Bar Tallahassee's best club, kind of a cross between Gainesville's Hardback Cafe and Covered Dish, it used to be called the Cowhaus.

Bill Perry Orchestra Experimental music with a sense of fun! BP is a Gainesville scene fixture, artist, and great guy to boot.

Billy Reese Peters rowdy drunkpunk with former Crash Pad bassist PJ.

Birdland Mafia Eric of the Roach Motel's Arizona band!

The Busdrivers Gainesville ska-punk. RIP 2003.

Book Your Own F***ing Life The best DIY tour guide in print, sponsored by Maximum RockandRoll, has finally made it to the Internet! If you are punk and on an independent label or unsigned, you must sign up for a listing! Do it now! Hard copy of the book comes out around every April & is an indispensible thing to take with you on tour or to arrange a tour or out of town shows. Plus you can help others by getting them shows in your town! Win-win situation, baby!

Civic Media Center Alternative press library and a cool place for bands to play as well.

Florida Bands Good place for a reciprocal link for Florida bands, they'll also sell you webspace if you want to put a page with them. All genres.

Gainesville Band Family Tree Wanna see all the bands we've been in, and how everybody in any Gainesville band is only 3 degrees of separation (or less!) from anyone else? More fun than that Kevin Bacon game! Compiled by Pop Canoneers Michael Murphy and Don Undeen.

Gainesville Band Page Page with links to lots of Gainesville and other Florida punk bands, with especial emphasis on the No Idea crew.

Gainesvillebands.com A great guide to the Gainesville band scene, with band links, message boards, etc. These guys have been instrumental in revving up the houseparty scene to make up for the lack of proper live music venues.

Hardback Cafe Gainesville's premiere punk club from 1989-99.

House of the Rising Punk Bills itself as the "World's Most Comprehensive Punk Rock Web Site." It sure has a lot of stuff (though I don't know whether WorldWidePunk isn't as comprehensive-- visit them both and see what you think).

Hoyt and the HotHeads Gainesville rootsrock in a Petty/Dylan vein. Brian plays bass and guitar in this band.

Hyde and Zeke Not just a record store, a Gainesville institution! A great place run and staffed by musicians and music lovers. Yay.

Ink 19 A great music webmag featuring music of various genres.

Trip Isaac designed the logo for the Crash Pad webpage and helped with scanning some of our photos and uploading our mp3's. Local bands, if you want a really cool page with neat features, E Trip and he'll do you right!

Ron Palovcik was Crash Pad's official "unofficial band photographer." Ron took almost all the early live shots formerly on our page and is a poet of local reknown as well. His webpage has lots of his poems.

Indie Jukebox While it hasn't been updated in far too long, this juke site has lots of indie and unsigned bands' songs in soundwave format. If you go back a couple pages you'll even find a song from Crash Pad's first release!

No More Our good friends and frequent billmates, No More moved up to Gainesville from Port Charlotte a few years ago and the rest is history. Melodic punk/popcore with grrl and guy vocals and a frenzied stage show.

One Pump Chump Gainesville ska-punk with whom we frequently gig, great folks.

Option Two New school punk rock including Scott Ripley, former Crash Pad bassist.

P.o.S. Silo's punk rock band!

Pop Canon Gainesville's avant-pop sextet whose ability to mix odd time-signatures, wildly different styles, obscure literary references and dadaist humor was pretty much unsurpassed. RIP, Pop Canon. Plus they're great players and nice people!

Punk '77 Mailing List This list discusses firstwave punk. The webpage has instructions for subscribing and listmember links.

Punkbands.com Same idea as World Wide Punk, from whom they borrowed a lot of info.

The Punk-list Granddaddy of all punk mailing lists; members don't just discuss punk, but every facet of their lives, from computers to guitars to wrasslin' to gardening! The webpage has instructions for subscribing and listmember profiles.

Roach Motel The band that started punk rock in Gainesville lives on!

Rock Fetish Rock Fetish has great punk rock and other T-shirts, pins, etc., plus a searchable band database!

Shockmatic Productions J.T.'s recording studio and one of Crash Pad's rehearsal studios.

Sick Dick and the Volkswagens Gainesville punk band with garage roots and hilarious non-PC lyrics. Brian played guitar with them for a short while. This is where their page used to be, I keep the link for the weird pics their former manager now has posted there.

Sugardish Gainesville's only all-grrl punk rock band for awhile, featuring not one but TWO former Crash Pad bassists! Yay them. RIP c. 2004.

Ultimate Band List The name says it all. If they have a website they're probably on UBL.
