10th March 97 - Queen Elizabeth Stadium

The gig started at about 8:40pm, but at around 8:20 the people just rush out to the stage from their seats. Lucky us(the ASAHK), we kind of allocated our group into 3 divisions: Yolanda & Yvonne faced Neil, Lucienne & her friends at the centre stage, then me & Kelly facing Richard, we were all at the front row!!! That's why we can get so many good pix.  There's a little gap between the stage & the audience but there's this 0.5mx0.5m extended thing in front of me & Kel's spot which I was sure Brett's gonna step on & be near us!

The gig started with "SHE" & besides from Simon's powerful drum bit, the first thing I notice about the band is: Richard is more confidence & more natural on stage than he was in 95, I'm quite happy for him, me & Kel shouted his name & he grinned at us(We were really close to him). They played all the song from "Coming Up" except "TCBU" & "So Young", "A.N.", "The 2 of Us", "The Wild Ones", "N.G" & "Europe is our playground" the only b-side on the show which I didn't know why but brings tears in my eyes. Brett was brilliant as always even his voice is a bit cracked (guess of the constant non-stop tour) & everytime he stepped on that extended stage, we just tried to grab him. As he sang "By the Sea" he crouched at that extended stage to wait to finish the last line for like 20 seconds,  I was stoned until Kel told me to take the picture.  Neil was another star on the stage, we read so many press saying he's bored to death on stage but to me, he's definitely not. It's really nice to have that little keyboard on "So Young" & he switched places with Richard at the last part of "2 of Us".  He stared at everyone who holds up a camera to him, he grinned at us(even we were so far away from his side, as I waved to him, he can still managed to pose for me until I turned to Brett).  The gig was as every suede gig, it captured your heart from the first note and as it ended, you just beg for more.  It's a blessing that we actually can have one more tomorrow, Brett did say "See you all tomorrow" as he left the stage.

2nd Day - Hitech Rotunda

The gig started at around 8:15pm, a bit earlier than the first night 'cos it' was an all standing gig & everyone was crashed to death before the show started.  Actually there was a girl fainted  before it started, she was lucky enough to get back in the venue before the band came out. The stage is smaller but taller than in QE & there's this big gap(about 2m) between the stage & the audience.

When the intro of "She" started, everyone in the crowd just went mad! I screamed out  so loud that I couldn't even believe it myself('cos I did already lost my voice that day!) Then the band came out!  I can't remember the run down of that show. I can only remember they played all the songs from "CU" including "TCBU" & the Sex Pistols' "No Feeling", while Neil played guitar on in both songs but no "the 2 of us".

This gig was more like a party to the band & us.  The securities splashed water to the crowd to cool us down & there were like at least 20 people fainted in the crowd.  Brett splashed water to the audience too, at one point, someone in the audience fought back, he/she splashed the water back to Brett, my heart stop beating at the moment when I saw Brett was kind of took it by surprise, he kind of can't believe they did that to him!  But in a second, he turned to smile & flashed the whole bottle of water to the fans, there we go the water fight between Brett & the audience.  We can see all of the band quite enjoyed that moment, Simon & Mat laughed at the back to each others(Mat laughed the hardest as Brett got splashed!) & Richard started to kick the water bottle down the stage & wandered around the stage, even the coolest Neil smiled about that.  As there's this water fight on stage, Neil's keyboard was wet & the roadie gave him a towel to wipe the keyboard. So he did,  but me the one standing in front of him,  can't caught that moment! Suddenly this thought came to me & I waved my arms to him and asked him to do it again for my cam, and he did! He'll do anything for the camera!  Then Brett took the NME's reporter's camera & took some pix of the crowd &  Neil did the same & took the pix of Brett & Richard.  Neil was more busy on this night than in the 1st, he posed so many more tonight, he even put his long legs on the keyboard and he put on his sunglasses as he played guitar on the Pistols' song.  He must be really exhausted after this show!  You still remember I said there's a big gap between the stage & the crowd, right?! But somehow, Brett took a look at us, seems spot us from all the crowd & tried to place his mic in front of us(the ASAHK) & sang in front of us, I was so worry that he might fall!  And it's so unbelievable that he did it 'cos the space between the keyboard & the stage was quite little & he decided he's gonna led down right there.

That gig ended in the punk rock "No Feelings" but the feelings of the crowd were unbelievable,  we saw people smiling with satisfaction as they walked out of the venue.  And the high on suede feelings just flooding inside our body.
