  • On November 6th, the legendary EXIT 3 out of Phillipsburg, NJ debuted their new addition to the band, guitarist Matty Love (formerly of The Wackers and Spunk Tank before that), at a return to the Alpha Fire Hall in their hometown. The quartet opened with Hyde from their new album entitled, Conception, and the first E chord hit the crowd pleasurably. Softly entering was the voice of Aaron Kinsman's guitar, hinting a deja-vu guitar melody that effects to echo in a mind remaining long after the song's decay. Immediately into the song, fans recognized Matty's new tasteful strummings during the verses that fellsomewhere between and around the senses: subtle and sudden.

At the start of the song Surrender, much of the crowdzoned in on the droning and steady pulse rhythms of drummer Jonathan Braunand bassist David Johnsen. Let me hold you 'til we become dust and the wind comes to take you away. Kinsman carriesthe first of true melodies. Avid fans of Exit 3 stood up in the frontand sang along bouncing their heads and closing their eyelids tofurther hear the music. The crowd behind them started to follow up towards the front, where the Alpha Firehall's best soundsurrounds.

Quite the coolest and funnest moments of the shows were:
1)Punk Rock Love Song Do you want to do me baby.
    2) A b-string broken by Matty
    3) A g-string broken by Dave
    4) Watching Jon rock cymbals like a bad-ass.
    5) A mosh pit during Recollection.
    6) Aaron crowd-surfing while singing Recollection.
    7) The performance of the song, Open.

Exit 3 is coming together to bring you cleverly arranged compositions, depthy lyrics, musicianship, fun, and divine soulgrabbing happiness. I do suggest trying out their new album. I've got it playing right now, it's an album you can listen to over and overand over again. In a row. No doubt. I've done it.
