HOT DOG! IT'S TRIPPER VALENTINO'S VERY OWN WEBPAGE!!

A dog with it's own homepage? Yeah......Right..... I'll just bet that you're expecting me to be another insufferably cute anthropomorphic literary construct. Well, I'm not.

I'm a Schipperke!

What's a Schipperke?, you may ask. (Go ahead you have my permission.)

We Schipperke's originally come from Belgium where we were bred as barge dogs. Descriptions of Schipperke's go back to the 15th Century, making us one of the longest established breeds. The name itself means "little sheppard", not "little captain" or "little boatman" as has been written elsewhere. I'd also mention that I resent the term "little". We are normal sized dogs, it's not our fault that you've gotten used to a bunch of hyper thyroid freaks..... but I digress.

On a pound for pound basis, we're the smartest dogs around. We ranked number 15 out of all dog breeds tested for intelligence. All the dogs that ranked higher than us are much much larger, some weighing four or eight times our average weight of fourteen pounds. See? Size really isn't that important. Quality not quantity is my motto.

We're very low maintenance. Our coats require virtually no grooming, we Michael Jordon eat your heart out. even smell pretty good when we get wet. (Just try that with a German Sheppard) Best of all most of us don't even shed. We kennel well. And every Schipperke, I know, was housebroken at an early age, (which is more than you can say for most anthropomorphic constructs). In fact about the only bad thing you can say about us, is that it's very hard to get a decent picture of us.

But enough about my relatives, lets talk about me.

I am just over a year and a half old, as I write this. I like chasing rabbits, long walks on the beach, and cozy evenings in front of the television (particularly if you're willing to share your popcorn). I am already the proud father of a total six puppies, with two different female Schipperkes. I sired the first when I was barely 8 months old (Hey, am I studly or what?) In fact "The Missus" is expecting a litter again in mid-July. That's her over there on the right The Missus gets some rays Cute, huh? And best of all she's all mine!!

I'll be sure to let you know how she's doing and tell you all about my puppies in these very pages, I'll even post some pictures, assuming of course I can figure out how to work the camera (HTML is easy...... SLR's are hard, particularly when you lack opposable thumbs)
