Djupa andetag

Bjorn Frida's latest solo album, Djupa andetag, is full of . . . shall we say, interesting things, including pics and all that jazz. She's still doing a great job! Wait . . . make that . . . an excellent job. What a voice!

Below, CJ comments about what she thought about Djupa andetag, and provides you with some pics and also some sound samples of excellent quality.

Hey, Björn, I hear you talking about me over there.

CJ's commentary on Djupa andetag :

In a sentence : Djupa andetag is the best $33.86 I ever spent!

Really, that might sound a little steep for a CD but taking into account all the great stuff that's included on it . . . I rippped them off! Number one, this is Frida, so I sort of had a biased opinion to begin with. She always was my favorite. (Even though Agnetha got to sing all the really cool songs.) Number two, I needed something to annoy my friend who forces me to listen to bad Spanish music that I don't understand either. Number three, I call my car "Frida" because it's "ABBA Gold!"

Frida answering questions Knowing about 3 words of Swedish, I ripped open the packaging of my long awaited arrival and immediately popped it into my computer. I found the interactive program and away I went. This is so cool! What should I click on first? For future reference, I found out that avsluta means exit, and then had to restart the whole thing, ugg. So I went about my merry way and clicked on this and that. I found no use for the biography or the lyrics since I couldn't read a word. But to my surprise I found myself watching Frida answer questions, in a language I didn't understand, and of course, I had to click on every question even though the only words that I recognized were ABBA and vegitarian. I really loved the studio clips and the music video even though, like I said, I didn't understand a word. Then I decided to listen to the songs. Not even begining to understand the lyrics, I couldn't sing along, I just had to listen.

I guess that's why I loved this album so much. Since I couldn't even begin to look at it from a lyrical point of view, I was forced to take more of a musical approach to its quality. No doubt about it, Frida always did know how to belt out those vocals and each song had its own personality, each with a different twist, no two alike. Originality is always good! Since I never did "get" the story behind any music videos, I thought oh gee, I'm really gonna be confused. But I wasn't, Aven en blomma kind of spoke for itself, I didn't have to know what the lyrics meant. Now, that I've listened to the whole album like 50 times, I can sing along, but I haven't got a clue as to what the heck I'm talking about. Sounds like every other day of my life, nothing new with that.

Anyway, that's enough about me, let's get to the stuff everybody else wants to know about.

So now you might be asking yourself : Where can I get my hands on this CD? Well you can get it where I did at CDNow, or maybe some other online CD place. But I wouldn't recommend CD Europe to anybody since it has been over 6 months and I still haven't received the CD that I ordered from them. CDNow has been very reliable.

If you would like to purchase any other ABBA related imports, the best place to look is at your local Circuit City. I was surprised to find that they had just about every ABBA and ABBA related import that there is, (except Djupa andetag - I guess they were out that day.) at a very low price (usually between $9.99 and $12.99). They had Frida Ensam, Something's Going On, and Shine, along with a few of Agnetha's solo albums. So, if they don't have it, try CDNow, even though it would be a bit more expensive.
