The Convention Diary

Hi All,
   Hope you are well.
   So many have asked what all we did at the Convention and
in London. Here is all from my daily diary I kept from my
trip!!!

May 5th 8:30 PM  Flew out of Newark, New Jersey on British
Airways.

May 6th 8:30 AM  Arrived at Heathrow Airport in London. Went
to a hotel until Vox, Poc@, and Ming arrived.
   Met Vox by him flashing a picture of me. He place a Roger
Taylors Happiness on my head. Exchanged real *HUGS**KISSES*
   6:30 PM  Ming and Poc@ arrive. More real *HUGS**KISSES*
exchanged. 
   Went to Hertz Car Rental...starting our drive towards
Prestatyn...
   Stopped in New Castle at a hotel (Comfort Inn) for the
night. Ming and Vox shared one room...Poc@ and I the other.
Guess who got stuck with one bed??? The guys of course *LOL*
Poc@ and I had 3 in our room!!!

May 7th  8:30 AM Met Delilah and S@turn at breakfast. Real
*HUGS**KISSES*  We all laughed because we were so
speechless..like we needed our computers to talk *LOL* 
   We took some pictures of all of us. Walked the streets of
New Castle... Started out on the road again!!!
   Stopped for lunch at McDonald's...mainly to kill some time.
   Picked up some food at a little store in Prestatyn.
   Arrived at the Poctin's Gate at about 3 PM. We had a 2
hour wait before they would open the gates to start the
Convention and it was COLD. 
   At 4:45PM YEAH we are in!!! Start Queen Convention 98!!!
   Got our room numbers, left on the board so everyone would
know where we would be, got settled in our chalets, walked
around to see things, got our gifts (leather card holder,
O.I.Q.F.C. pin, pictures, and candy)  and met D@vid, Indy,
Emilio, and a Friend of Indy's.
    7 PM  All 10 of us walk to Suhail Tandoori Indian
Restaurant.(S@turn, Delilah, Emilio, Vox, Ming, Poc@, D@vid,
Indy, Indy's Friend, and me) First time I ever ate Indian
food. Very Good!!!
   After dinner we walked back and went to the Dance Hall.
Listen to Karaoke. afterwards the DJ come on and we danced,
drank, met Smile, Rich, Flix, Tazzum, Trigo, and Farrokh.
Stayed until 2 AM. 
   2 AM Went to Poc@ and Ming's room 277. Ate and drank
Norwegian things. (flat bread, different types of meats,
Potato Shots, and Hot Shots)
   Then we started on the Blow Jobs shots. What a great time
and laughs we had.
   Went back to my chalet around 4:30 AM

May 8th 11 AM had breakfast at Poc@ and Ming's. Delilah gave
me the nickname The Great Womble B*** *LOL* 
   12 PM went to Ballroom listened to Jacky's Welcome, video
by Brian, audio by Roger. 
   Heard a few songs from Roger's new CD. 
   walked around town and shopped with Poc@, Delilah, and
S@turn.
   3 PM went back to Ming and Poc@'s for lunch.
   Went back to the Ballroom to see auction...least expensive
a poster for 80 pounds. Most a Freddie vest and belt
autographed 1500 pounds. We all sat in shock *LOL* most
things went for around 300 pounds plus.
   Custom contest followed
   Listen to Brian introduce his new CD. Then YEAH they
played the whole thing for us.
   The Bohemian's played on stage...Queen look alike band.
11 PM went to find Fish and chips with Delilah and Poc@. We
laughed so hard...Delilah driving the wrong way up a one way
street twice *LOL* on the wrong side of the street at times.
Came back nothing was opened so we settled for food at the
Convention.
   Today we bought our Convention QUEEN ROCKS T shirts.

May 9th 10:30 AM went and walked around the Queen Market.
Bought some pictures of Brian.
   1 PM Ming, Poc@, S@turn, Vox, Delilah, and me went to town
for lunch at Offas Tavern. 
   2:15 PM Went to Irish Sea...took pictures, collected
shells, had lots of laughs
   3 PM Watched Brian and Roger video's, listened to Queen
music, Band played Garret Glitter...The 60/70's night
begins...Arena Travel put on a memory lane show for
us...Danced and drank the night away.
   Took our group picture with our Chat T shirts and Jacky.

May 10th Last day *cry* 
   Got to Ballroom about 10:30 AM
   Jacky's Good Bye, awards are given out, we say good bye to
each other. Trigo, Farrokh, Rich, Smile, Tazzum, Flix, and
Big JD. *HUGS**KISSES* and tears!!!
   Ready for the ride back to London...We had such a
wonderful time together!!! 
   We left around 1 PM...Delilah, Vox, Indy, Emilio, Ming,
Poc@, S@turn, and me.
   Stopped for lunch.
11 PM got back to London. Took Under Ground to Victoria, then
walked to our Bed and Breakfast (Ebury House... 102 Ebury
Street) 
   Got settled in our rooms...Girls in one...guys in the
others...walked around the streets of London and through a
park. Saw Windsor Castle, Picadilly Circus, a bit of Big Ben,
and so much more. 
   
May 11 8:30 AM had breakfast.
    Said Good Bye to S@turn *cry* 
   Walked to Freddie's home (Logan Place)...took pictures and
signed the Wall. tried to find other Friends names who had
visited throughout the years. 
   Went to have beer at an English Pub...Said Good Bye to
Oliver and Emilio *cry*   
   went shopping at Disney, Hamley's, HMV, Mark and Spencer's
just to name a few...had lunch Shakespeare's 
   7:30 PM Went to hard Rock Cafe..Poc@ and Ming bought us
each something from Hard Rock Thank You!!! *HUGS**KISSES*
Walked around the streets of London some more...Walked closer
to Big Ben, Parliament Street, Westminster Abby, took
pictures...
   1 PM went to bed

May 12th Said Good Bye to Poc@ *cry*
   Went to the Queen Fan Club
   Had a beer at a local Pub
   Walked to John Deacon's home
   Took underground to Picadilly Circus for dinner at The
Pizza Pan with Vox...talked for hours...walked around and
shopped at Tower Records...took even more pictures
   Got home about 1:30 PM
   
May 13th Got up about 10 AM..said Good Bye to Ming *cry* 
   Went for breakfast at The Internet Cafe with Delilah and
Vox...walked around Windsor Castle, watched the Guards for a
bit, Went to Picadilly Circus and Carnaby Street..
   4:00 PM Said Good Bye to Vox...lots of tears again
   Tracy and I went to dinner at Ask an Italian Restaurant.
Had a very nice dinner...
   Got home about 10 PM and just relaxed...

May 14 got up about 9 AM
   Tracy and I went back to Internet Cafe...popped into Chat
for a bit...
   Took a bus to the Tate Museum...then went to Tower
Bridges, Henry the VIII Castle, St Paul's Cathedral, shopped
a bit more on Oxford Street
   Went out for Indian Food at Buckingham Balti House...went
back to the Hotel and Kay (the woman that ran the Bed and
Breakfast) invited me down for some wine and to met her son
George...took a walk through Hyde Park and George pointed out
some places of interest talked for many hours about his
career, Queen, and so much more...UGH No more white wine for
me *LOL*

May 15 Last full day in London... walked through Kensington
Gardens, shopped, went to eat and called it an early
night...Said Good Bye to Kay and George 
   
May 16th got up at 6 AM said Good Bye to Tracy *cry* said
Good Bye again to Kay and Thanked her for everything...7 AM
got to the Airbus on my way to Heathrow Airport... 9:30 AM
got on British Airways arrived back at Newark Airport at
11:45 AM

   To sum it all up!!! It was Great!!! Everyone was so
wonderful in person as they are in chat. So many laughs and
great memories.
   Thank You to all my Friends that were there and made this
Convention so wonderful and meaningful to me!!! *HUGS**KISSES*
   Thank You to Mom, Wayne, and Jessica for watching the
girls and making this possible *HUGS**KISSES*
