A little bit of history about the Pet Shop Boys:
The Pet Shop Boys are a duo formed by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, from Entland
They met in a music store in the early 80's and eversince then they have been
playing a very good kind of music. In my opinion, their songs are very "chique"
and sometimes almost classic!!!
They remained separated for a while (around 1992), when Neil recorded one single
with Electronic (Bernard Sumner and Johnny Marr)called Disappointed, one of the
most beautiful songs that I ever heard in my entire life. Neil had taken part
in two songs of Electronic's first album called Electronic, but in this case,
Chris was together with them. The songs are: Getting Away (With It) and The
Patience Of A Saint.
Normally, people who like the Pet Shop Boys, also like the folowing groups:
- Joy Division
- New Order
- Electronic
- Monaco
- Erasure
- Dead Or Alive
- OMD (Orchestral Manouvres In The Dark)

This is the first album released by the Pet Shop Boys. It contains their first
"mega-hit" Westend Girls and other hits such as Opportunities, Love Comes Quickly,
Suburbia and Violence, among others. There's no doubt that this is one of their
best albums.
This is an album relased after Please, which has remixes of Suburbia, Opportunites,
Love Comes Quickly and Westend Girls, plus remixes of two other songs that didn't
appear on the original album: In The Night and Paninaro. A very good album which
is really worth listening
This is the Pet Shop Boys' real second album, if we consider the fact that Disco
was a remix album. It also contains many hits, such as It's A Sin, What Have
I Done To Deserve This?, Rent, Heart, among others. In this album they kept their
style and therefore this was also one of their best albums ever released.
In 1988, Neil and Chris decided to put themselves to the risk of releasing a real
remix album, Introspective, which was an album containing only remixes of songs
that would be later released in shorter versions in singles. Introspective
contains the hits: Left To My Own Devices, I Want A Dog, Domino Dancing, I'm
Not Scared, Always On My Mind/In My House and It's Alright. All the remixes are
very good, not boring as the remixes usually are. There are remixes that are, in
my opinion, better than the respective short versions.
After some time without releasing albums, the Pet Shop Boys released Behaviour
and its first single was So Hard, which soonly became a hit. After that single
came Being Boring, How Can You Expect To Be Taken Seriously and Jealousy, among
others. This album is a mark of the change of their style, it seems to be a
much more mature sound, if compared with the previous records.
Discography is a collection of the Pet Shop Boys singles released until 1991
and its songs have slight differences from the orginal ones;you can also find some
short versions from the remixes of Introspective and three new tracks.
The first single from this album was Can You Forgive Her?, which didn't become
a hit, at least in Brazil, but I liked it since the first time I heard it, in
the middle of 1993. Later came the singles: Go West, I Wouldn't Normally Do This
Kind Of Thing, Liberation and Yesterday When I Was Mad. Here in Brazil the only
song that became a hit was Go West, which is a pitty, because it's full of
"Very" good songs!! :)
Although, this is, in my opinion, their poorest album (in quality) because it
has many dance tracks, but even so I like all of them!!
Beware!! If you like the Pet Shop Boys and don't have this album, please DON'T
BUY IT!!! This is by far the worst PSB album!! I would risk to say that it's
one of the worst albums I have!!! It's hard for me to say that, but I have to
be realistic: it's a trash!!
One of my favorites, Alternative is a double album which contains all the "b-sides"
(songs not released in the albums), the short versions of Paninaro and In The
Night, plus a remix of Violence (from Please). This is also very worth listening.
In this case, I would say: DO BUY IT!!!! :)
Bilingual is their last album released. It's also one of my favorites. The singles
released from this album were: Before,Se A Vida É (which is a sentence in Portuguese
that means If Life Is, and not That's The Way Life Is), Single and A Red Letter Day
The songs I like most are: Discoteca, Single, Metamorphosis, A Red Letter Day,
Up Against It, Before and To Step Aside. In fact, I love the whole album!!
After the original Bilingual, they released a Special Edition, which has a brand
new song called Somewhere, that was released in a two-part cd set.
The Pet Shop Boys have released many singles so far and it will take some time
until I can put them all on this page. I hope that the information above is enough
for those who are eager to knowing a little of the PSB history.
Thank you very much for reading it!!! :))

This picture, of course, is a fake. I've never been with the Boys
in my life, although I would love to. I called this picture "One Of
The Crowd, because that's exactly what it is: I am being one of the
crowd!! And better, I am with them!! At least in the picture. :)
