photography

My secret hobby of photography first started at 14, when I was carrying around my father's old camera on trips, and got my first glimpse of the Manhattan skyline. Ever since then, taking photos and New York City have been intertwined in weird ways in my life.
Although I've done my fair share of traveling, I've mostly focused the pictures I've taken on the people around me. As they have decided to cast me aside, I simply picked the next logical subject - myself.
I will stress that I am an extreme amateur at any kind of photography, and I've taught myself what little I know. It's just a side hobby to help capture a side of my life that most people do not see. I hope that you get to know a little more of my personality than you would otherwise see in my suits and sweaters and combat boots.
Some of these photos have a deeper meaning. Some do not. You can look for it if you would like. Keep in mind that some are just pictures, but all are precious in their own way. There is so much of life that cannot be captured in words or film alone... and yet each can convey so much more than reality itself. Keep that in mind as you peruse these.

The Past

Allison, back when we were goths and had bad hair

As I don't have many of my photos scanned right now, I will include some of a woman I would much love to emulate, the beautiful Melissa Auf Der Maur. She's more than I'll ever be - and then some.
