D. Moran - 05/05/00 16:07:01 My Email:daralm99@msn.com Venue/Date of concert attended: 5/04/00 - Ky Derby Festival | Comments: Sorry - but in the review below I forgot to mention that the guys played a song off the upcoming CD that they're working on now! Ed said the album would be released before the end of the year (but didn't hint at the name)! The song was called "Prick" an he said they wrote it in reference to their label and some problems that happened with 'Dosage'. (While signing autographs, Dean said that Ed was always having a problem with them about something...no big deal.) But the song was AWESOME. It rocked! |
D. Moran - 05/05/00 15:53:06 My Email:daralm99@msn.com Venue/Date of concert attended: 5/04/00 - KY Derby Festival Rating (on 10): 9.5 | Comments: CSoul stopped off in Louisville (home of Ed's wife) on their way to the Atlanta dates. They played for the "KY Derby - Festival in the Field" in the infield of Churchill Downs. Admission was $2.00 (yes, only $2.00!) and there were about 10,000 people th re! I was right on the front row fence for the whole thing. Talk about CRAZY! The crowd was more of a show for the band than the other way around. Mosh pits, Crowd surfing, alcohol, and lots of tits involved in the day. CSoul was a HIT! I was lucky nough to get a chance to meet the guys and get all their autographs on my CSoul t-shirt. Ed even kissed me on the cheek. Their line-up included Tremble, December, Run, The World I Know, Generate, Gel, Heavy, Mother (Ed's solo of the Pink Floyd song -abs lutely beautiful), Crazy Train (Ozzy), and they finished up with Shine! The crowd chanted for more, but the guys couldn't come back out. They needed to hit the road for Atlanta. It was a great time and I'm just thankful that Ed's in-laws are in Louisvi le. We get frequent visits from the band and it's GREAT! |

Go check the band o t if they are ever in your area. |

The sound was evidently set for the headliner and not C/S. Ed Roland had a cold and they barely played for 45 minutes. I went to see C/S not the berries!!. I've also seen C/S at the Pompano Beach Amphitheatre a out 3 years ago where C/S was the headliner and the show was a 10!!! Keep up the good work I will try to make it to Tampa in May 2000. Is C/S the headliner or what??? Thanks for your time. |

Ross - 02/27/00 05:09:33 My Email:rosscsh@hotmail.com Venue/Date of concert attended: May 20 Rating (on 10): 11 | Comments: First things first! The concert was the X-Fest in Birmingham Alabama. Me, my girlfriend, my brother, and his girlfriend go to it. We saw My Friend Steve as the opener, then Marvelous 3. The guy from M3 played what looked to be a soapbar McCarty editio Paul Reed Smith (uuuhhhmmm not bad!) Then we went to some small both where autofraphs were to be given, we decided to wait at the backdoor. We met M3 and I told that guy he had a cool guitar. I got right beside the door, and sure enough five minutes l ter there are three dark dressed guys that just seem to stand out, (in this order) Dean, Ross, and Ed. I screamed to Ross that one of his solos inspired me to play guitar, he seemed cool about it. Dean went right in, ed stayed for about two minutes sig ing autographs, and Ross stayed for about ten. I stood right in front of him and didn't say much other than "mine name is Ross, too," and, "nice guitar collection," and "your my favorite guitarist." Then some little small talk (not much!) Then he went n and I was about to go get the others to sign when my brother got my attention. Standing beside him and his girlfriend was a 6' 5" guy named Will. My borther had seen them a month early and had been talking about that concert the whole time I stuttered at Ross. Will talked about some songs they were going to play. My brother, being a lesser CS fan, said the Crazy Train rocked like 50 times. So will laft and I got his autograph later. They all walked right passed my to go back to the stage, and Ed sa d "Have a evening." (I think, it could of been night.) So they walk out and, after almost betting they would open with Tremble, they did. The concert included, not in order - Shine, Simple, The World I Know, December, Where the River Flows, Gel, Preciou Declaration, Listen, Blame (the solo was the soolest solo ever, other than the one that inspired me to play), Tremble for My Beloved, Heavy, No More No Less, Run, Generate, and Walk Away (the U2 cover with the guy from M3). They left after Shine and did something I never expected. Will told my brother they weren't playing Crazy Train. After about 5 minutes after Shine, Half the crownd left, and we went twice as close. They walked back out and Ed says "We're not ready to leave Birmingham! You knid of ought us off guard so this may not be perfect. We'll let our drummer Shane Evans start this one." (this could be off a little.) Shane's word - - - - "All aboard!!!" Half way through Crazy Train (with Ross doing some great guitar work in a different st le than what I have ever heard him play) Will looks down and sees my brother and smiles at him! If you have a chance to see these guys they ROCK!!! They are also very nice. If Ross eevery reads this I would like to say, "Thanks for all the inspiration I jsut got a CE 24 PRS, and I would of never tried them if it weren't for you. Maybe one day we can jam. Do you like Boston's Peace of Mind? Just wandering about that last one. To all CS - Keep up the good work!" - - - - - - - - Ross |

I had personally been waiting for over 3 years to see this show - so I patiently waited through the okay opening band for these great rock-n-roll he eos to appear! I was not dissapointed by theirn performance! From beginning to end, it had to have been the most crowd pleasing concert I have ver seen and hearing over 16,000 people sing "Shine" made it well worth the ticket price alone!!! It was incredi le!!!! The best part of it all was the fact that the show was family-orieented with little fear of ED wasting time spilling crappy words out of his mouth! Great show@!!!! |
