HISTORY: Suede was formed in 1989. Ex-Suedes are Bernard "Alone" Butler and Justine "Elastica" Frischman. In 1992, the UK weekly music press said that Suede was the "Best New Band in Britain". At that point, they hadn`t even released a single. Their debut-album Suede, became the most fast-selling debut-album in the UK history. Suede was the first band to sign Nude Records, in march 1992. Sony licensed Suede outside the UK. Suede is a lovely album. There are songs for everyone here, from the slow track "Sleeping Pills" to the rather faster "Moving". I think "So Young", and the first single "The Drowners" are the best of the tracks here, though everyone are very nice. Dog Man Star was not such a succsess as Suede, but many fans think DMS is their best album so far. This album is definitive their "darkest" album. "Heroine" is dedicated to Marilyn Monroe, and "Daddy`s Speeding" to James Dean. Some says "The Asphalt World" and "The 2 of us" are about Justine Frischman. This album is worth listening. Coming Up landed in the top of all music-lists with "Trash", "Beautiful Ones" and "Saturday Night". A lovely album this also, but more "happy" than DMS. Simon Gilbert on "Beautiful Ones" : "The audience go fucking mad for it. You can see them waiting for the chours: Here they come...." Sci-fi Lullabies was a gift from Suede to all their fans. This album has no singles, and are all b-sides. There are 2 cds. My fave tracks here are "My Dark Star", "Killing of a Flashboy", "The Living Dead" and "Duchess". In May -99, Suede released yet another no. 1 album; Head Music. In it`s first week it reached the top both in the UK and in Norway, and it made it to the top 5 in many other countries. Singles: Electricity, She`s In Fashion My fave tracks are "Everything Will Flow", "He`s Gone", "Elephant Man", "Savoir Faire" (Actually I think every single track is fu****g good!) Run to the store to buy this exellent album! =) =) =) =) |
