Jimmy and Spike met in 1991, they start out as dancers on the late-night TV show called  "The Hitman and Her" .As dancers they were getting a better response than acts they were supporting so they thought they'd form a pop group of their own.Spike and Jimmy had been booked as warm-up act for the pop band " Worlds Apart". Steve noticed  that the audience liked them, especially the girls, even though at the time, they were only dancers. A couple of months after they first me, Spike and Jimmy asked him to manage them, but he turned them down flat. He told them it was because he had never thought of managing a band and he didn't know the first thing about management, and he didn't want to take that level responsibility. As time went on, more and more fans started following Spike and Jimmy every where, and they really wanted to start the band. Every time Jimmy and Steve met, Jimmy would show him the stacks of fan mail that they were receiving after each roadshow. Two months later, Spike and Jimmy were booked at the Sands Centre in Carlisle, again for CFM. Steve was becoming more impressed with the progress of them, and in the end, he finally agreed to manage them, but they were missing a vital ingredient...the singer. By chance, Lee had been persuaded to take his sister, Rebecca, backstage to meet Spike and Jimmy at  a November show in 1995. Rebecca fancied Spike!! ( oohh!) and Lee had to introduce her to him. They hit off straight away, and they told Lee that they were looking for a singer, and Lee told them that he wanted to start a singing career. So they kept in touch, and not long after, they wanted Lee to audition for them. The following week, Spike and Jimmy travelled to Carlisle where Lee had booked a rehearsal room in a dance studio. Having done his best to impress Spike and Jimmy, Lee waited while the guys stepped outside to talk over what they had seen so far of the budding member of their yet un-named group. It was Spike who pushed things forward, he said that he could dance, so he had it. Soon after, a second audition in Glasgow also went well, but it wasn't until another visit to Glasgow that, Spike, Jimmy and their manager Steve were 100% convinced that Lee should join the band. There was just one problem, Steve was based in Glasgow, Jimmy in Liverpool, Spike in Warrington and Lee in Carisle, so something had to be done. In the end, they all ended up moving into Steve's three-bedroom flat in Glasgow. After a few days, Jimmy and Spike discovered that Lee had told a couple of white lies in order to impress them, and even though he was found out, Spike and Jimmy laughed it off. They did several small gigs and at a Glasgow roadshow, the band and Steve met John Mclaughlin. John is a songwriter, and was just what band needed. In about 3-4 weeks, John and fellow Gordon Goudie, came up with, "Can't stop", "Bodyshakin", "Love sensation", "Don't make me wait" and "One more try". 911 sent in lots of demo tapes and got turned down by every major record company. This didn't stop them though, instead it made them more determined. Steve then met a guy called Martin Wright at BBC Scotland radio training course. Steve and Martin got on straight away and Steve needed someone to create a database to keep a record of 911's in creasing fanbase, and Martin was experienced in computer programming. Martin Wright managed the hugely successful 911 Official Fanclub. Steve then met a businessman called Frank Shapiro and he was egar to join in with 911. So they joined forces and together steered the company behind 911, called Backlash. By February 1996, the team were together on making 911 pop superstars. Throughout the first year, 911 got rejected by every major record company, but that didn't stop them!!. They were in an impossible situation, so after much discussion, the team decided to put out 911's debut single themselves, so the Ginga Recording Company was born. No matter what anyone else thought, they were going to put out their first record and make a success out of it!!! .Soon they signed in Virgin Record and now you can see how popular they are!! they rule the world!!!!!
