Busta Rhymes
Bio:
Busta Rhymes is one of the craziest men in hip hop today. His rhymes are fast and crazy, his videos have a cartoon style, even his outfits show his funky personality. This man is truly a gifted rapper. His rapping style is hard to match. Although some of Busta's songs seem to be off the deep end, his raps are really about deeper things that just fun, fast rhymes. He raps about politics, Y2K, religion. and even the coming of Armageddon.
Busta Rymes a.k.a. Trevor Smith was born in Brooklyn in 1972 and was raised by his mother and father. When he was 12, Busta's parents moved the family to Long Island. During his years in Uniondale High School he showed great potential as a basketball player, but it seems as though music was the real thing that captured his Busta Rhymes' heart. When not in school he would sneak away to hang in the Bronx or Queens where the music most inspired him.
While in 10th grade, Busta entered a contest sponsored by Public Enemy and Chuck D. where he co-founded a new hip hop group was made called Leaders of the New School. The group spent many hours working on their music and in the recording studio. All of the hardwork soon payed off when the group landed a contract with Elektra Records. Later on, at 17 Busta dropped out of school to fully persue music.
The Leaders of the New School didn't get very popular, but they did release a CD in 1990 called Future Without A Past and in 1993 one called Time. As The Leader of the New School's career erupted, Busta went on his way to become more popular solo by working with groups like TLC, Boyz II Men, Mary J. Blige, and many others. By '94 Rhymes had moved on from The New School and began to start a solo career. His debut album was released in '96 and was called The Coming. "Whoo-Hah! (Got You All In Check)" was the first single off of the album and was a big hit on the Top 10. In 1997 Busta came up with The Coming's follow up album called When Distaster Strikes. That album was a big hit as well. In 1998 Busta Rhymes came up with his third album called Extinction Level Event-The Final World Front which is also refered to as ELE. That CD has had many singles come off of it including Gimmie Some Mo' and a track with features Janet Jackson What's It Gonna Be.
Busta Rhymes can surely be called a great rapper and a man that has had a big impact in hip hop.
