Juvenile
Terius Gray, also known as the southern rapper Juvenile, now 23 has been in the music industry for years. In case you hadn't noticed by watching his videos Juvenile is from the Magnolia Projects in New Orleans. In a place where few kids actually make it somewhere considering the places rowdy and wild rep. Juvenile is a lucky man. Even though his dad left him at age 4 and he had so many struggles with peer pressure and the ghetto life he still worked his way up and stayed focused.
Juvenile has been rapping since he was ten years old. He even formed a local rap group called UTP which was made up of uptown rappers. The group isn't around anymore because most of the members are either dead or in jail. If you see Juvenile's stomach you see a UTP tattoo in honor of the group.
In the early 90's Juvenile's rap career seemed to be at an end when he resisted the temptation of fast cars and a lot of money. He had to take many odd jobs until he met Ronald "Suga Slim" Williams and his brother Brian "Baby" Williams, owners of Cash Money Records. They auditioned him, but since they didn't have room to take new artists at the time they gave Juvenile a card and told him to check back later.
Eventually Juvenile got a spot at Ca$h Money Records and released his debut album Solja Rag. Solja Rag became a big underground hit selling 200,000 copies in the south alone.
Juvenile's latest album 400 Degreez has become a smash with Ca$h Money. So far he's had 3 hit singles off of the record. His biggest one being Ha and his latest hit being Back That Azz Up.
Juvenile's album is definately one to check out if your into that Southern Style rappin'. This man is definately here to stay!
