Functions

Ok some people come in the chat room and have no clue what the functions are and how to use them so here is a brief run down.

LOGGING IN the chat room. After you have picked the chat room square on Jordan's page it will take you to where you log into the room. You will see 3 functions here ENTER, QUIT and FONT SIZE

FONT SIZE this is to choose how big you want the writing to appear on your screen. I always pick font size 16 its not to small not to big.You need to choose your font size before hitting Enter.                                                            
ENTER when you click enter another box will pop up with a space to put in you log in name. After you decide on the chat name you want to use type it in and hit ok that will log you in the room. If it says you need a pass word that means another chatter has pass worded that name and you need to pick a new name. If you were given a pass word by a letter of the room just check the pass word box and include your pass word and you will then be logged in.

QUIT again if you click this it will log you back out of the room.


At the top of the chat room you will see this:

COMMANDS     OPTIONS     BLOCK      HELP

The COMMANDS function is for the letters and have really no meaning to the regular chatters.

The OPTIONS button has 2 buttons on it you do not need to use and one of them is very dangerous so don't even bother messing with them.

The BLOCK button has 3 functions to it.
BLOCK PC is to block your PCs so that if you are not in the mood for PCs you can block them so when people PC you, you do not know and it will tell them you are not accepting PCs.
BLOCK WHISPERS is the same thing but only it blocks your whispers.
( If someone has there whisper or PC blocked and you need to talk to them in private including letters feel free to ask them to unblock it for a minute and if they wish to talk to you they will do so if they choose not to talk to you please do not bug them).
BLOCK COLOR is to block just a few colors pink being one of them. Some people find pink hard to read so when you block it everything wrote in pink will appear on your screen in black.

Last is the HELP button. When you click on this there are two more functions
CONTENT this is a link to a page that's set up to get you more familiar with synergy (synergy is the program that runs the chat). WARNING synergy can be very mean to us chatters. At times synergy will kick you out of the room for no reason don't ask me why. We all believe synergy is a female and she has a crush on one of the male chatters in the room named owen. owen holds the most booting in a chat period, he is known to get booted like 100 x a hour, ok not quit that many but close to. (POOR owen.)
ABOUT SYNERGY this just tells you a bit of info on synergy such as when it was created.

To the right of your screen you will see a box with a bunch of names in it. This is your CHAT BOX. The names in it are the names of the chatters that are in at that time.

Above the names of the chatters on your chat box you will see a # that # is the # of people that are in chatting at that time.

Next to the # you will see ROOMS if you click on rooms you will see the following names
HANGIN TOUGH, GIVE IT TO YOU, *P* CLOSE MY EYES and JORDAN KNIGHT.
JORDAN KNIGHT is the main room in which you log into. Hangin Tough and Give IT To You are two other rooms that everyone can see and go into at anytime.
*P* Close My Eyes is a pass worded room. This means its a room you can only see and get into if your chat name has been pass worded. If you do not see this room its because you do not have a pass word on your name. Also if you do have a pass worded name but are in under a non pass worded name you will not see the *P* room. You must be in as your pass worded name to see it.

Under the chat list names you will see a
WHO IS button this is really not of much use. It is just to see if a chatter in the room has a pass word on their name. To use it all you have to do is use your mouse cursor to highlight a chatters name then hit the who is button another box will pop up with this info. If the box does not pop up its either down sized at the bottom of your screen or you closed it out when you entered and you then need to log out and log back in to use it.

IGNORE button this is the BEST button for the chatters to use. If a chatter is bothering you or someone is in the room causing a problem this is your best friend. All you need to do is highlight the persons name on the chat box then check the ignore box. You then will not see anything that person types and you can ignore as may people as you want.

WHISPER button this button is used to whisper other chatters. If you highlight the chatters name you wish to whisper then check the whisper box any thing you type as long as that box is checked only you and that person will see. As if you were whispering in there ear. You will know when you are whispering someone because what ever you type will be in blue and when some one is whispering to you what ever they type to you will be in a pinkish color. You will know when others are whispering each other cus you will see someone put in the room ok@whisper thanks@whisper so forth. This doesn't mean there's a chatter in named whisper they just don't feel like whispering back yet they don't want the people in the room to know who is whispering them so they do @whisper.

PRIVATE this button is to go into a PC with someone. A PC is a private room for you to go to with one other chatter to talk in private only the two of you see what is wrote in your PC. You PC the same way you whisper highlight a name then hit the private button.

WEB PAGE I have never used this button I'm guessing its to take you to a web page though.

QUIT this button is to leave the room if you hit it, it will log you out of the chat room.

Last but not least the COLORS we have lots of different colors to write in and many of the chatters write in the same color every time they come in some change colors from time to time so have fun playing with these colors.

SCRAMBLING when a letter of the chat room Scrambles a chatter it is because that chatter broke a chat room rule and were given several warnings before being Scrambled. When a chatter is Scrambled they can still see what we are saying in the room but when they try to type everything they type will come up on the screen in a scrambled code, and can not be understood. When a chatter is scrambled it will say "that chatter has been scrambled in JK chat by what ever letter scrambled them". As soon as that person logs out and logs back in they then can continue to type regular and if they behave are more then welcome back in to try again to chat and have fun.

KICKING after a letter has scrambled a chatter, if that chatter does not leave the chat room and continues to flood the chat room with scrambled typing a letter may then kick them out. Or if a chatter comes in the room and is being really really bad we may just choose to kick them out with being scrambled first, but only in really bad situations. Also if you long in with a non PG chat name, or with the #69 behind your name and are asked to change it but refuse not to we will then kick you out. When you or another chatter is kicked out it will say  "that chatter has been kicked out of JK chat by what ever letter did the kicking". That chatter will then be able to log back in and try again to chat and have fun.

PROHIBIT after a chatter has been scrambled then kicked if they still continue to come in and cause problems or break a JK chat room rule a letter may then Prohibit them. When a chatter is Prohibited this means they can not come back in the chat room for 24 hours. When a chatter is Prohibited it will say "that chatter has been Prohibited out of JK chat by what ever letter did the Prohibiting". After 24 hours that chatter may the again return to the chat room and try to chat and have fun once again.

LURKING if a chatter is Lurking that means that chatter did something really bad and we feel that person should no longer be aloud back in the chat room. A chatter is put on Lurk only by a *D* or *A* but another letter may request the *A*'s or *D* to Lurk a chatter. When a chatter is Lurked they can still get into the chat room but can not type at all. They can only talk in PC if another chatter chooses to PC them. If a chatter is in on the Lurk status a letter may kick them out with no warning or they may let them stay in to chat in PC it is something the letter decides on what they want to do. If you are on Lurk and do not understand why I suggest you either Email a Letter and ask them or you also may come in the chat room under a name such as "popeye_pc_me". That way I know that you need to talk to me and I can choose whether I want to PC you or not. If a letter then PC's you, you may ask them to help you find out what to do to get off lurk, but only do this if you really have no clue why you are on lurk. Also if you log in on Lurking status and a letter kicks you out do not keep coming back in.

Now that you know what the buttons are you can go try and make them work.
