On our way back, my cell phone rang. I picked it up. "Hello?" "Amber? It's Dee. Lemme talk to Joey." I handed Joey the phone. "Don't get us killed talking and driving at the same time!" I told him. "Hello?" he asked. He listened for a minute, looking thoughtful. "Okay, Deanna, not a problem. Thanks for calling." He hung up and handed me the phone. "What'd she want??" I asked him. "She said to drop you off at Shanda's," he answered. "Oh. Okay," I said and was quiet. "Is something wrong?" he asked. "No. Just tired!" I smiled. "Since when are you worried about me?" "You've been really quiet today. I can tell there's something wrong. Is it Jason?" "I guess. Like I told you, I've just been getting the feeling that he's cheating on me. I don't know why. Maybe because we haven't been spending as much time together. I love him so much though!" I admitted. "He is so sweet to me!" "Don't worry about it. It's probably nothing. You know he loves you just as much!" Joey assured me. I smiled. "You're right." "Oh, look. We're here. I gotta go, okay? Gotta meet the guys! Their bus gets here today," Joey said. "Oh, so you're too good for me!!" I joked. "Give them my love and tell them I can't wait for Monday! See ya!" I got out. "Kay. Have fun inside!" Joey said and backed out of the driveway. I headed inside her house, thinking. |
