Death Of A Loved One

Death comes and it tears us up inside,
Makes us want to run away and hide.
Don't want to believe, it can't be true,
There's got to be something you can do.
It couldn't have happened, it's a lie,
How could this person close to you die.
It is one death that you can't accept,
You can't even grasp the concept yet.
You sit and you wait for her to call,
To tell you it's a joke, that's all.
You already know the phone won't ring,
Memories flood you're head, you're sinking.
Drowning in all your tears of sorrow,
Acknowledging that she has no tomorrow.
You picture her face, her nose, her eyes,
You remember her laugh and her sighs.
Thinking of all the good times you had,
Noticing good includes all the bad.
Tears fill your eyes and you start to cry,
Praying to God, asking him Why?
All the people why did God pick her,
Then softly God tells you his answer.
I chose her, he says, over the rest,
‘Cause I needed the finest, the best.
For this special job way up in the sky,
But don't you worry, and don't you cry.
She's not in pain, she is happy now,
The curtains closed, she's taken a bow.
Look at what she's done with the time she had,
All the people's she's touched, don't be sad.
You just keep her close to your own heart,
This way you won't really be apart.
You will meet again someday, you'll see,
At the same time you'll be meeting me.
There will be a day I'll come for you,
‘Cause I'll have a job for you to do.
I will have picked you over the rest,
Because you were the finest; the best.
