It seems like a lot of people at various sites have been doing it, maybe it's "The Fall of the Backstreet Humor Empire" or something. But anyway, I've spent a lot of time thinking about it, and I decided that it's not something I want to be a part of anymore. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a bad site or anything!! Goodness knows, I've gotten many a giggle out of it. But I just can't keep a clear conscience about it anymore, for a number of reasons:
1. I hate not having any time to work on it.
I mean, it's no fun to only be able to update it like, once a month. If I'm going to do something, I want to give it my all. I'm just too busy to go to school, keep my grades up, be in the play, sing in church choir, go to church, play for Pep Band, have a social life, get a decent amount of sleep, *AND* work on this website. *whew*
2. My love for (ok, obsession with) the Backstreet Boys has begun to fade.
Yes, I still like them. I still listen to their music, I still drool over Kevin... but for the most part, I'm not a crazed fan anymore. Sure, it was fun, but it's hard to keep up that kind of loyalty when they're treating the fans like crap (can we SAY ticket sale day) and continue to disappoint us (at least me anyway).
3. And perhaps the biggest reason: I feel bad.
You heard me. Don't make me say it again. I've actually begun to feel guilty about some of the things we say about them. I know that in comparison to some other sites, we're rather mild, but still... I don't like being hypocritical: going to church and saying that people shouldn't be judged, but then turning around and tearing these guys to pieces. But NO, I'm not going to do a complete 180 and start hate-mailing humor sites telling them to stop before I sic rabid Joey on them or anything. I respect everyone's right to free speech.
So that's that. To Kov and Sarah, I'm sorry. I know you two will probably be too lazy to actually do any work on here anymore (haha), but I want you to know I've had fun. A ton of fun. And if you do end up closing down the site, it's not the end of the world, right? You're a couple of my best friends, and if you keep up the site, I'll make sure to stop by and check on it every once in a while. You chilluns be good, ya hear? :) To everyone who's visited (and even signed up for the mailing list!! You guys deserve an extra round of applause!!! YEAH!), thanks. Making a site is fun, but only if people visit it. Otherwise it just gets boring really fast!!
Will I ever make another website? Hopefully. No clue what it would be about, but unless I get the time, nothing will happen.
So thank you, everyone. And I'm sorry if anyone's hopes and dreams are crushed by my leaving here. I'm sure they are... :) I especially want to say sorry to Sarah and Kov... awww... c'mere!!! ((((bIG HUgGieS!!!)))) I love you gals like sisters, don't ever think I'm leaving because I don't like ya!!
