Paris, January 14, 1964

Question: How important is it to succeed here?

Paul: It is important to succeed everywhere.

Question: The French have not made up their minds about the Beatles.

What do you think of them?

John: Oh, we like the Beatles. They're gear.

Question: Do you like topless bathing suits?

Ringo: We've been wearing them for years.

Question: Girls rushed toward my car because it had press identification

and they thought I met you. How do you explain this phenomenon?

John: You're lovely to look at.

Question: What about your future?

Ringo: None of us has quite grasped what it is all about yet. It's washing over our heads like a huge tidal wave. But we're young. Youth is on our side. And it's youth that matters right now. I don't care about politics, just people.

George: I wouldn't do all this if I didn't like it. I wouldn't do anything I didn't want to, would I?

Question: Is it true you're only in this for the money?

Paul: Security is the only thing I want. Money to do nothing with, money to have in case you wanted to do something.

John: People say we're loaded with money, but by comparison with those who are supposed to talk the Queen's English that's ridiculous. We're only earning. They've got real capital behind them and they're earning on top of that. The more people you meet, the more you realize it's all a class thing.
