I pride myself on my sporting dedication and have tried nearly every
sport that I have had the chance to. The best, by far, is
AMERICAN FOOTBALL, and NO IT IS NOT THE PUSSIES VERSION OF RUGBY! it is a
highly skillful, fast paced, physically and mentally demanding sport.
It is a sport that took off in this country in the 80's when the NFL's Superbowl
was shown on television. There are now some great coaches, players and teams(I
suppose I have to include the Monarchs in that) around and the standard of
football is always rising.
I will always have a soft spot for my old team the
TEESSIDE DEMONS, you may have noticed that my picture on the first page
was of me in my Demons kit.
The TEESSIDE DEMONS are part of the
British Collegiate American Football League
which is open to all students who are doing a full-time course at any
university with a Football team or their subsidury colleges.
They play 8 games a year 4 home(at Saltersgill Rugby Club), 4 away before
going on to extra games (if they finish in the top four in their league)
in either the play-off's, leading to the College Bowl or the plate competition.
So if you are at Teesside or any other University and are a fan, a player
or a person that has just watched a few games on Chaneel 5 or Sky Sports and thought 'I quite fancy doing that!' then ask your Athletic Union
for details of your nearest club or click below for links to other teams.

I now play for the Gateshead International
Senators which play in the UK's Senior League. What can I say about the Gateshead
Senators? They play at the Gateshead International Stadium (that well known athletics
venue), they are the second best team in the country and won the Division 1 Championship Game last season.
