Falling from grace...into the fire, into the life

She pushed him closer to her, and went on kissing him, like she was a long time lost lover. "How long I've been waiting for this", she whispered. "How long I've waited for you."
Hari just hugged her tighter, pulling her from her chair and straight into his arms. But something went wrong. His sixth sense was pushing him, tugging him. He broke away.

"What happened?", she asked, seeing his worried face.
"Someone was watching us.", he said, barely whispering. Could it be Linda? No, it was a human being, a mortal. He suddenly discovered who, when Jonathan Beston, apparently innocent, broke into the room.

"Eleanor? Are you there?", he shouted as he entered.
"Yea, Beston, I am. Don't you worry."

He looked to Hari. "You're white, man! What's up with you?"
"God only knows. I am feelin' like queasy these days, you know?"

He excused himself, and almost runway of the room, leaving Eleanor and Beston alone. He was feeling his head hammering, the old hammer on the skull, telling him of the crime he had committed. Letting himself go and bending to the human love, to the desire. He was beginning to feel himself as a man once again, but he didn't even have a body. He was a wandering spirit...he was a man once. Not anymore. He was there to watch over Brittany, but there he was, getting involved with the only woman he should never, ever get. He'd had to stop it, for more that he didn't want to.

So he made his decision. He would go to the clinic where Britty was, and stay there until she left. Only like this he'd ever forget Eleanor. He would have to.

"You really love her, don't you?", Linda asked behind him.
"I do but I can't. So many people broke her heart over the years, I don't want to be the next one. Do you understand?"
"We all leave one day. I also broke the heart of my man."
"But in your case the whole thing was meant to be. Your time simply had come. But I was not even in her original life plans. I arrived in a parachute, into her life, and suddenly...see what happened to me! If I could at least tell her..."
"Who you are? Why don't you do it?"
"She'd never understand, Lady. Never in her life. Only a tragedy - or the imminence of a tragedy - will make her understand."
"Go to Brittany, and do your real job. I look after the things over here while you're out."

Just then Mary and Danny Boy arrived at the hallway. "Hail, Hari Hare!", he joked, "What happened to ya, boy?"
"Nothing really, you see. I just got outa it for a second or two. You know what I was thinking?"
"No, I don't have a crystal ball yet.", Mary laughed. "And all and all you are the Warlock here!"
"In visiting Britty. Or spending a time there with her. What do you say?"
"That's great. Any road, you need some rest. In the last days you've been looking REALLY tired."
"Yea, I know.", he said, looking back on the hallway. Eleanor was leaving with Beston. And she wasn't smiling.
