Song Interpertations
I honestly don't believe in song explainations because it ruins it for people who relate the song to something in their life to find
out that it's really about something different. Also, it's more fun to figure them out on your own! But, an overwhelming number
of people have asked for these. If you have any comments on what the songs are about, email me at

Real World- "Real World was just ... I came to this realization that we were going to make a record and I was going to be in a
band and that all of a sudden, I was 23, 24 years old and no matter what I did, I was never going to be a fireman. I was never
going to be a policeman... and it's like if you weren't doing that, would everything change? Would everybody think of me the
same as if I were just like working in a fast-food restaurant." -Rob Thomas from Earwig.
Long Day - On the AOL chat on August 11th, it was said that "Long Day" is about how a day in a bad relationship can feel
like forever (in a bad way.)

3am- All anyone knows is that it's about Rob's mom. It's somewhere in the sonicnet transcript.

Push- "If they would have actually listened to anything except for the chorus, 'I want to push you around,' then it makes a lot of
sense that it's just about a relationship. It's just about emotional abuse. It's just about emotional violence. It's just about being
manipulated and being controlled. The way relationships work. And I think it just means they didn't hear my song, and I'm mad
at them for getting up on their soap box and saying, 'I got a cause, I got a cause. I'm going to ban a bunch of punks from
Florida because they wrote a song and I didn't listen to it but I really think it's got some kind of misogynistic undertone and I'm
going to bring it out if I can.' " -Rob Thomas from Earwig
Back 2 Good- About the consequences of cheating. He said this during a Baltimore show on August 14th.
Kody- This song is about a little boy(pictured in the cover)kody died when he was 2 1/2, Rob paid a tribute to Kody's
memory with the song.
Shame- At the August19 show, Rob said," this (shame) is the cheating song.. actually, Back 2 Good is the official cheating
song, but this is about when you've fucked everything up and no matter what you do you can't change it," or something like
that.
Hang- About friends of Rob. He also said this on August 14th. If my memory serves me correctly, he also said that he really
liked the girl.
