About the demo "Atheistic Emotions"
Greek Metal Hammer Mag.(8 out of 10)
...Their first official demo includes death metal of high quality in which they added many symphonic parts.Next to the heavy guitars and the brutal vocals, there are very beautiful parts in keyboards, operatic female vocals and medieval melodies. The first 2 songs remind a little bit Therion, "Dreamy Death" has many keyboards and only female vocals and reminds Kari Rueslatten and Dead Can Dance...The cover of "Paranoid" is truly a surprise...
Metal Invader(Greek mag.)
...Maybe one of the best demos of this month is the first official demo of Odes Of Ecstasy...They belong to the kind of bands that have the contrast between the brutal male and high pitched female vocals. Here is another terrific singer like Christina whose vocals leave their mark...Imagine something like the "Theli" of Therion...
Ill Literature(American mag.)
...The title track, "River Of Rage" and the more up-tempo "End Of An Era" fit into the atmospheric death/doom genre.Their sound, which is surrounded by a dark dreamy feeling, is set by utilizing average speeds, infused with melodic guitars, operatic synths(performed with a synth guitar) and vocals that alternate between the low deep growling of Dimitris and the high-pitch operatic singing of Christina...These 2 different vocal styles create a striking contrast where it is most visible on the Black Sabbath cover "Paranoid".Christina really caught me by surprise since this is the first time I am listening to a female attempting to sing like OZZY!I have to say, she doesn't sound bad at all. While it sounds like the original they manage to add a personal touch to it making it fit within their own songs."Dreamy Death" is an ambient tune portraying Christina's beautiful voice accompanied by sorrowful melodies laced by keyboards...
