Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms - 2nd June 1998

Embrace played their "first gig in six
months" at the Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms. Words cannot describe how
good it was. They stepped out at 9:30 and played a rousing setlist, I
will include it later. Danny was on form, his voice hit every note
and he and Richard were both up for it. Danny said that Higher Sights
will now be the next single, rumoured to be 27th July.
Only slightly disappointing thing was that most
of the crowd knew none of the songs. Me and my mate Matt were at the
front singing, shouting, waving and jumping; blokes around us were
getting pissed off with our enthusiasm.
One Big Family was amazing, they played a long
keyboard intro, before Richard's guitar struck in. They also played "The Good
Will Out" which, as
far as I know, was the the first time it was played live, it was
heartwarming, a fantastic way to finish the gig.
Anyway, here is the setlist;
1. Blind 2. The Last Gas 3. All You Good Good People 4. My Weakness Is None Of Your Business 5. Come Back To What You Know 6. Dry Kids 7. You've Only Got To Stop To Get It Better 8. You Got To Say Yes 9. Retread 10. That's All Changed Forever 11. I Want The World 12. Higher Sights 13. One Big Family 14. Free Ride -------------------------------------- 15. Fireworks 16. The Good Will Out
