I've been going to a Christian church for quite some time now, and I must say that is the
best thing that has ever happened to me. Without God and my Christian family in my life,
I would be lost. Alot of people ask me, "What religion are you?" and I usually answer
that I don't have a religion, I have a belief. Then the next question that I usually get is
"Well yeah, but what is the name of your church?" But when I say that I go to a
Christian church, they get a puzzled look on their face and say something like, "But we're
all Christians" or "what kind of a Christian?" What they're looking for is a denominational
name. But all I can really say is that I am a Christian. Christ's name is the only name I'll wear! He is my savior!
God forgave me of all my Sticky notes!
Recently at VBS this year, the preacher at our church taught a class for the kids. He started the class by giving everyone a Post-It note pad and a pencil, and told them to write down something that they did that was bad this week. They were then instructed to take that Post-It note, and stick it to a cross that he had hung up on the wall. After the kids took their seats, they saw that there were a whole lot of sticky notes there! He then proceeded to tell the kids that those sticky notes only represented ONE sin per kid in that room, which was not very many compared to ALL the sins of ALL the people in the world! The kids giggled, thinking about how many sticky notes there would REALLY be if every sin was accounted for. And he said, "But you know what? God forgives you of ALL your sticky notes!!!". So now, whenever I feel like I'm never going to amount to anything, I just remember.....I DO have lots of sticky notes.....but God forgives me of them all! And guess what....not matter how many sticky notes YOU have, he'll forgive you for them too!
Some people say that life should come with an
instruction booklet. Well guess what? It has! It's called the Bible. You know, I was talkin' to one of my friends (non-Christian) and she said
that she had opened a Bible only once in her whole entire life. She was surprised or see
that I knew it so well (even though I'm really not too good at knowing book, chapter, and
verse of things that I should). She was even more surprised to find that the Bible has
some interesting stories in it. In fact, she is now borrowing my old Bible and has already
read through Genesis and is moving quickly through Exodus. So how about you? When's
the last time you picked up a Bible? If you're like my friend and have hardly ever touched
a Bible, I suggest you start reading. You've got some catching up to do.If you have any
questions (stories, lies, jokes.), just e-mail me at kimber_5o@hotmail.com and I'll write
back right away.
