"Contact" was produced by Robert Zemekis who also directed the famous "Back to the Future" trilogy.

When I first plopped down into my seat at the movie theater to partake of Contact, you might say I thought it was going to be a pretty good movie as I feel all science fiction movies are. To my surprise, I was wrong, it was not good at all, it was GREAT! The opening scene of Contact is totally rendered and it completely will blow your mind. It starts out from a scene just about earth, like from a shuttle view, with the faint sound of radio frequencies (broadcasts) being heard. It then slowly starts to move away from the earth and through the solar system passing by the planets and other spectacular things such as the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. It continues to zoom out billion of light years out past the milkyway and on and on, just totally spectacular, and it really makes you feel small. :)

Moving right along, the movie was spectacular. The storyline was completely believable and could actually happen. The storyline was much more realistic in the sense that the aliens do not come and attack us, they tell us how to get to them and they mean us no harm. The acting in this movie was superb as were the special effects. I was literally shaking in my seat with excitment while I was watching this movie, and that has never happened to me before. This is one of the best movies of all time, and all I can say is that I hope the movie industry continues to go in the direction its heading in right now and producing great movies with awesome storylines and belieble at that.

In conclusion, i'll say that I have never seen Fact and Fiction blended this perfectly in a movie before. If you haven't seen Contact yet, I suggest you spend a few bucks, you definately wont regret it (even if you dont like Science fiction)!
