Shroud by Sonrisa

I can't see you.
I know you're there.
Smokescreen...
Shroud.

You let me see you
but I closed my eyes
always thinking
I could open them again
if I wanted to.

You let me see you
but I didn't want to,
Didn't try to.
Now my eyes are wide open
and eager,
but I can't take off this
shroud.

You let me see you
But I didn't see you,
I saw pain.
And looked the other way.
Not knowing that the pain I saw
was really fear
of the love I felt

I tear off the
shroud
And realize that you are the one
holding it on.
