Cut Chemist VS Shortkut (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Sold out, for trade only! Recorded live in San Francisco on May 25th 1997. Shortkut of the Invisibl Sktratch Piklz and Cut Chemist from LA do an unrehearsed session on five turntables. Sort of like a cross between a Rob Swift tape and an ISP scratch practice tape. The recording quality is flawless.

Includes the differen style of D-styles who uses new tracks as well as the classic stuff.

I finally got my hands on a master of this classic scratch tape. Like the other ones, just as good.

Mixmaster Mike - The Unidentified Essential (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Representing the ISP, you know the deal about him, if not, look at the descriptions on Neckthrust One, and rescue 916 below, and check the DJ profiles for the ISP info. This tape includes a freestyle by Rahzel, and RZA. One of my top 5 favourite tapes.

Mixmaster Mike - Musik's Worst Nightmare (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Includes the live set that Mike and Q-Bert did to win the 1994 DMC championship.

Mixmaster Mike - Explosive Box cassette (With Glossy Black and White Cover)

Another Mike tape, not sure if there is any live stuff on it.

Cool scratch mixtape, includes many samples, and great skills. Arguably the best scratch tape available - at least the best ISP tape.

Q-Bert and DJ Shortkut - Zorlafenfu (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Two of the ISP show their scratching skills in this 60 minute tape of pure back-to-back scrtaching over beats.

Q-Bert and D-Styles - Hotsauce.... (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Similar to Zorlafenfu, but includes the different style of D-styles.

Mista Sinista/Etchasketch - Sinista Sketches (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Rix with the new tapes first and fastest! One side each for the two DJ's. It's East Coast tracks, but it's in a different style to all the other EC tapes I have, cause of the choice of tracks. Usually if you get a couple of tapes from the same time, they all have the same tracks.

This is an old school tape with tracks that you will know because you have heard the samples on other tapes ("So step up if you want to get hurt", "Hear the drum again, wicked" etc). Definately another good old schoo tape, not as good as the Roc Raida ones just because he ruins it with too much talking (Clue style).

Rob Swift - Pure Moods (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Both Rob Swift tapes are great. he gets all the crew involved, has live stuff, real pro jobs. Definately recommended.

A true mixtape from the X-Men's DJ Sinista, featuring precision scratching and blends with recent major and indie hip-hop tracks. Features Rob Swift, Roc Raida and Total Eclipse.

Total Eclipse/Mr Sinista - X-Traveganza (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Straight mixtape with some skills, good traks like Fugees and Method Man.

X-Ecutioners (X-men) - X-Pressions (With Home made Glossy Colour Cover)

Don't worry about the name being different, they had to change it in case Marvel sued them. The debut album from the world-class turntablist crew of Mista Sinista, Rob Swift, Roc Raida and Total Eclipse. It's twenty-two tracks of X-Men scratch compositions, hip-hop productions (featuring E. Bros, Kukoo and more) and discussions about turntablism philosophy from the DJ's themselves.

Rob Swift - Soulful fruit (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Initially, Soulful Fruit was just a mixtape that Rob Swift sold during his last world tour with his X-Men crew. However, the response was so great that it was released as a full-length album by Peanut Butter Wolf's Stones Throw label. "Soulful Fruit" is sixty minutes of the skilled, mellow turntablism he's now famous for, plus guest DJ apperances by Roc Raida, Mista Sinista and Diamond J. The highlight of this record is "Rob Swift Versus Rhazel", a 14-minute call-and-response battle with The Roots' beatbox master. (Description by RP - thanks)

Another Old school tape from Roc Raida of the X-Men. I don't know much about old school, and wasn't that into it, but the two old school Roc Raida tapes are brilliant. Not the boring old school that some tapes have, a really good selection by Raida, plus he spices things up even more with some good mixing and scratching skills.

Underground tape with skills. It's good.

Vin Roc/Ed Swift - Audio Animation (With Glossy Colour Cover)

I like this tape a lot. If all the 5th platoon stuff is as good, then they are my favourite DJ crew. Hopefully this section will grow soon. Also look out for the exclusive live tape with Vin Roc/Babu/Roc Raida in the special exclusives section.

5th Platoon - In Da Trenches (With Glossy Colour Cover)

This is a straight mix tape by all the members with some live stuff as well. Get Audio Animation instead though, this isn't as polished.

1200 Hobos

1200 Hobos - Evolution (With Glossy Colour Cover)

A DJ Crew like the ISP and X-Men, similar style to the Shiggerfragger tapes. Real good skills and varied track selection.

Rare grooves and samples. Plus scratches.

DJ Muro - #3 (With Glossy Colour Cover)

I like the Muro tapes a lot. They are rare groove tapes with mostly the original tracks that todays producers have used. Listen to the tracks in my audio section under "original songs". If you like them, you'll like Muro tapes.

Cut Chemist - Theories Not Yet Proven (With Glossy Colour Cover)

One of a couple of Cut Chemist tapes, i'm gonna try and get the rest. This one is mostly tracks with not much skills.

DJ Noize - The Hands That Rock The Tables (With Glossy Colour Cover)

Dope tracks, scratching and Noize's own sentence construction or whatever it's called. Definately one of my favourite DJ's cause of his original style and great skills. 1996 DMC champ, Superman Battle champion, etc.

DJ Shiro - 1210 Technics...A Scratch Odyssey (With Glossy Colour Cover)
Another great tape. Tons of originality set it apart from the other turntablist tapes.
