Giles sighed as he entered his apartment, dropping his briefcase and the
books he had brought home into the nearest chair. He smiled at Xander as
he entered the room from the kitchen. "Hi," he said softly, wrapping his
arms around his young lover. "What have you been doing?"
"Waiting for you to get home," Xander replied, resting his head on the
older man's shoulder. "Long day?"
Kissing Xander lightly on top of his head, Giles pulled back and began
walking towards the kitchen while Xander followed. "Just normal school
happenings and then training with Buffy. But I missed you," he admitted.
Since Xander and his friends had graduated, the school just hadn't been the
same for Giles and he found himself looking forward more and more to going
home to his young lover.
"I missed you too," Xander smiled. "But I have a surprise for you," he
added happily. "Sit here," he said, pulling a chair away from the table
slightly.
Giles sat and scooted the chair in, then looked expectantly at Xander.
"Okay," he replied.
"Close your eyes," he commanded. When Giles' eyes were closed, he opened
the refrigerator and pulled out a pizza box and two bottles of beer.
Setting everything on the table, he opened the box and said, "Okay, you can
open your eyes."
The librarian looked from the food on the table to stare quizzically at
Xander. "What's this?" he asked, slightly confused. "Cold pizza and beer?"
"Yup," Xander said, beaming. "We're gonna be macho men tonight. We're
gonna eat cold pizza and drink beer and watch football and forget we have
brains. Then when we get tired of doing that we'll go take a bubble bath."
"Okay," the librarian agreed slowly. "But Xander," he added. "Why?"
"Why not? It sounded like fun. And I admit it," Xander said
mischievously, "I'm just trying to get you drunk so I can have my way with
you."
Laughing and shaking his head at his enthusiastic lover, Giles opened his
beer and took a slice of pizza. "Are we eating in here or in front of the
television?" he asked.
"In front of the TV of course," Xander replied.
Grabbing the box and his own beer, he made his way to the living room,
plopping down on the couch and setting the pizza and beer on the coffee
table in front of him. Giles sat down next to him as Xander found the
remote and turned the television on to the Monday Night Football game.
"Must we watch this?" Giles asked. "I don't mind a good game, of course,"
he added, "but surely there must be something," he continued until Xander
cut him off.
"It's either this or Melrose Place and gawking at women's breasts, G-Man,"
Xander said quickly. "Your choice."
"Oh, we might as well watch this," Giles conceded.
The two watched the football game as two macho heterosexual men would.
Except for when they were rating the attractiveness of the players on the
highly precise "Krycek nummyness" scale. But that was after each had drunk
several beers in a rather short amount of time and can therefore be
overlooked. By the end of the game they were both laughing hysterically
every time the Chiefs quarterback was shown. "Grrrrrrrbac," Xander said in
between fits of giggles.
"He's like a 3," Giles said, also laughing. "Poor guy. You'd think with a
name like Elvis, he'd be at least a 6."
"Yeah well, with a name like Rupert you'd think you'd be what, a 2?" Xander
asked as he climbed into his lover's lap and sat facing him. "But you're
more like an 8."
Giles raised an eyebrow and smiled back at Xander. "Eight?"
"Okay, more like nine, nine and a half," Xander corrected, nibbling on the
older man's ear.
Wrapping his arms around Xander, Giles said, "So, are we still doing that
macho men thing? Because I'm not sure this qualifies."
"Mmmm," Xander murmured. "I think we're at the bubble bath stage now," he
decided and stood, holding his hand out to Giles, who allowed himself to
be
pulled off the couch.
Hand-in-hand they walked to the bathroom. Pouring a small amount of the
bubble bath into the tub, Xander turned on the hot water then turned back
to his lover, who was sitting, for lack of a better place, on the toilet
seat. Leaning down, he captured Giles' mouth with his own and kissed him
deeply. When he finally pulled back, he smiled. "You can't very well take
a bubble bath with all these clothes on," he said as he began removing his
lover's clothing.
When Giles' chest was bare, Xander paused to press his lips to his lover's
chest, trailing kisses across it. Checking the level of the water, he
pulled reluctantly away and began concentrating on undressing the older man
again. He quickly removed Giles' shoes and socks and then pulled down his
pants and briefs. When he had fully undressed his lover, Xander kissed him
again. "Go ahead and get in," he said after pulling away and then went to
turn off the water.
Giles did as requested, leaning back to rest his head against the back of
the tub and watch Xander undress. The younger man made a show of removing
his clothing, grinning at the chuckle of gratitude from Giles. Once he was
also nude, he slipped into the warm water as well, resting his head back
against Giles' warm chest. He sighed happily when his lover wrapped his
arms around his chest.
They relaxed together, letting the warmth of the water soothe them, Xander
nestling back into Giles' embrace and letting his eyes slip closed.
"Xander?" Giles finally said softly.
"Mmmm?" Xander murmured.
"I love you."
Xander twisted around so that he could wrap his arms around Giles and laid
his head once again on the older man's chest. "I know," he said, smiling
softly. "That's why I'm here. I love you too."
Giles tightened his arms around the young man and sighed contentedly, happy
in the embrace of the person he loved.
The End
