BIOGRAPHY
*Note: This is not an official band bio,
I wrote this myself*
Static-X consists of:
Wayne-Guitar/Vocals
Koichi-Guitar
Tony-Bass/Back Ups
Ken-Drums
STATIC-X hails from Southern California,
home of bands such as Coal Chamber, Fear Factory, Korn, (hed)pe, Snot,
and others. STATIC-X started in 1995, playing the local Hollywood scene
and releasing a demo tape, of which only 50 were made(definitly a collectors
item now!). This tape was released under the name Static, no X just yet.
After 2 years of playing together, they released
another, longer demo, consisting of the songs "Push It", "I'm with Stupid",
"Sweat of the Bud", "I Am", "Love Dump", and "Head". This demo would land
them a record deal with Warner Brothers Records in early 1998.
About halfway through the recording of their
soon-to-be-released debut album, "Wisconsin Death Trip", Static was told
that there were other band with their same name. So, they could a.)Keep
the name and possibly get sued. b.)change the name completley or c.)alter
the name a bit. Obviously, the band went with letter C. The alteration?
A dash followed by an X to create STATIC-X.
Now STATIC-X is ready to move up in the musical
world with the release of their album March 23, 1999. Though this date
has been delayed many a time, the band assures us this is the set release
date.
Without further ado, I leave you with the
great word:
GO!!!!
