Who will be the last boyband standing?
The setting: December 31, 1999, 11:30 p.m. You're attending the biggest music industry party ever. Everyone who's anyone is there. The question on everyone's mind: who will be declared the best boyband of the 20th century--the Backstreet Boys or *N Sync? Sunshine and Sprinkles battle it out for you. Read on to see who wins.

Sunshine (for the Backstreet Boys): Of course the BSB would win. After all, they've sold more than 40 million records worldwide. They started a trend on MTV and radio stations across the world by bringing back good, old fashioned, clean fun and happy music. That will continue for years to come. The BSB have long careers ahead of them as long as they stay together. And, to top it all off, they're beautiful to look at. Come on. Kevin. Brian. Nick. AJ. Howie. I would take all of them down in a heartbeat.

Sprinkles (for *N Sync): Pfft…who's keeping track of those silly records. Minor details. It's all in the bodies. Ahh, I'm sorry. I mean it's all in the music--harmonies, melodies and all that musical stuff. BSB may have been first, but things are always better the second time around. In such a short time, *N Sync has managed to become a pop boyband phenomenon in their own right. They have "movement" in their harmonies, and with the addition of Lance, now have a "round sound, top to bottom" (thank you, JC). So, all that being said, that means I think they sing pretty. But on to the true reason, how could they not win? They are beautiful. They could have their mouths closed the entire time and still win as the best boyband of all time in my book! Justin. My, my, my. God is good and generous. Just give them the award.
THE VERDICT
THE BEST BOYBAND OF THE 20TH CENTURY…
THE CULTURE CLUB
(The Jackson Five was close
runner up, but even Michael doesn't stand a chance against the classy Boy
George)
How could this 80's trend-setting boyband (consisting of Mikey Craig, John Moss, Roy Hay and Boy George) not run away with this award? Boy George. Now there's a man. Or a woman. Or...other. Hey, us 80's fans weren't that picky. Boy George's androgynous appearance created a stir on the fledgling Music Television (now known as MTV) with such hits as "The Crying Game" and "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?" and helped increase the popularity of MTV. We all know you loved "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?". Let's think "The Wedding Singer". Their music is timeless. Hey, Sunshine still has the vinyl of this incredible boyband. And the credits don't end there. Boy George was the forerunner of RuPaul, and we all know how popular he is.
Just think. We can now relive the 80's...THEY'RE DOING A REUNION TOUR, DUDE! It's a beautiful thing...
