How do I love Paul?

Sir Paul McCartney. I can't believe I've gone this long without having a page devoted to him! I must be crazy!
I can talk about Paul forever. He is the love of my life. :) Back when I first got into the Beatles, his songs were the ones that usually stuck out in my mind, although I didn't know that they were his songs at the time. I wasn't always this obsessed with the Beatles, *g*, so there was a time when I couldn't tell the Beatles apart in pictures or in songs. I would look through the Anthology 2 booklet, reading it, trying to figure out who was who. :) Once that was all straightened out, I was crazy about Paul. Wonderful voice, terrific songs... and being gorgeous didn't hurt. :)
From there I decided I needed to learn more about him, and I was buying Beatle books and borrowing them from the library like crazy. The first books I read were all very complimentary, and Paul stood out with his marriage to Linda, his family, his heart, his work for animal rights.... I was in love. :) Since then I've gotten some books that do not view Paul in a good light, but they can't change my views. All of this got me into his solo work.
I've never fallen in love with Wings as I did with the Beatles, but Wings is a terrific band that I really, really like. :) And after Wings (and a little before Wings), Paul solo... terrific stuff. I leapt into Wings and solo Paul just as blindly as I did the Beatles... I didn't know what album was 'best', I just bought one. :) It worked, and I realize now that it's because there really is no *bad* Paul album!
It's so hard to put in writing how I feel about Paul. And it may seem a bit silly since I have never met him in person... but I don't care if it sounds silly. I *feel* like I know him, through watching interviews with him, reading books about him, and listening to his music. My friends give me a hard time, saying he's old and stuff, but I don't listen to them. He's just as terrific now as he was in the 60s!
Some of my Paul favs...
Wings album: Venus And Mars
Solo album: Flaming Pie
Beatles album: Sgt.Pepper
Wings song: Daytime Nightime Suffering (bonus track off of 'Back To The Egg')
Solo song: Distractions (off of 'Flowers In The Dirt')
Beatles song: Things We Said Today (off of 'A Hard Day's Night')
One night when it was *very* late, I even wrote a poem about Paul. I'm posting it here for your reading pleasure. :)
ODE TO SIR PAUL McCARTNEY
My friends - they laugh, they say you're old and grey/ But age doesn't matter - in my heart you'll always stay./ Your smile, your eyes, that little wink you give/ I'll never forget any of them, no matter how long I live./ Your voice is gorgeous, the music floats through the air/ A sound so lovely coming from such a wonderful man is so rare./ Your heart is big, you give so much love/ And you know that Linda is smiling down at you from up above./ My heart skips a beat whenever your music plays/ It's power to cheer me up is even stronger than the sun's rays./ And so, my dear Sir, thank you so much for it all/ In my heart and in the hearts of many others, you'll always be our darling Paul.
