(january 23rd 1997)

our love is no longer
the eager babbling creek
irregularly struggling over sharp rocks
frantically trying to gain strength
it's become a broad deep river
tranquilly flowing
now and then encountering rugged gorges
stubbornly mastering them
tumbling over rapids here and there
enjoying free falling in a tight embrace
knowing we'll be safe
together
