hmmm...it's been a while.  i thought i would change this up because i have yet another new address.  it looks like this one will stick with me for at least another year too.  i am still selling stuff: i have some smurfs - got the blues 7" left and an unlimited supply of smurfs demos and hate you! cds for sale.  and i still think it is good.  even though we have really been broken up for years now we were on a split cd with another band, the gargamels, which was released on super pezhead records last year, which is a lot of fun to listen to.  the gargamels is a band from texas that actually sound a lot like us.  they are really funny and take up the first 6 songs.  the smurfs fill up the rest of the cd with 12 songs.  these are the 9 songs that were on the got the blues seven inch as well as a new song that never made it to the 7" and 2 songs that we redid that sound a bit different from the original.  are they better or worse?  i don't know, but you can make that comparison yourself.  you can buy the cd for about $4 (?) through super pezhead records and  interpunk.  other than that we have been pretty much laying low.  sassy and i have been out of action for a while and smelly recently announced the breakup of his old band, the remotes.  here's the address where you can order old smurfs merchandise:

479 Northlake Drive #110
San Jose, CA 95117

i feel obligated to drop some links, so here goes:
the mutant pop records mailing list hosted by knock knock records is a pretty interesting site to see what the punk rock kids are arguing about.
some crazy kids in my old school-town (davis, california) set up a website some time ago with some funny stuff.  they review restaurants in davis, review shows, and generally talk about life in davis.  and, thankfully, reading about living in davis is a lot more exciting than actually living there.
the moo la-la records and ss records homepage is a cool place to check out if you want to know about the best music out of sacramento.  ss records is a brand new record label that i don't know anything about, and moo la-la records is a record label/distributor with some great stuff like the bananas (the best pop-punk band right now..?) new cd, the lil bunnies and sewer trout.  the site is also a host to a range of links that will give you a surprisingly lot of information about the sacto scene and the city itself.
the big star reference is a  link site to one of the greatest bands in the world.
the fastback's giant lever is the official site for the fastbacks, which as far as i know, just broke up a month ago.  they were classic pop-punk at its peak with some tremendous song-writing.  one of my favorite bands for life.

that's all for now

okay, for those of you who have been checking up on this site, you'll realize that it's really a piece of shit cos it never gets updated.  and i'm not gonna refute that.  but anyway i just wanted to change the address to where you guys can order the smurfs stuff cos that's pretty important (!!!).  i'm sorry if that screwed any of you guys up.  anyway cos i'm probably not gonna re-update this crap, here are a few links that i think you should check out:

half.com - probably the best place to buy used cds cheap.  and no auctioning.
allmusic.com - my favorite site in the world right now.  i go here like a couple of times a day.  very thorough and even has some punk stuff you may not expect to find.  awesome resource, except that mike daronco guy is an idiot.
history of rock music - this site is also very extensive. p; lists here galore!!  from best singer to album to band of all time/decade to best cd stores, this is a place to check out.

that's it for now.  maybe more in the future...

yo, just for the hell of it, i'm making a linkoftheweek for each time i work on this page.  i have another test tomorrow, so yea, i am kinda procrastinatin but that's cool.  this week i'm putting up 2 links of the week.  and they're both record labels:
crackle! records from england is pretty rockin.  they have a cool scene over there with a lot of bands that i've never heard of before except in those mutant pop newsletters.  skimmer, chopper, and blew are all supposed to be very good.  they even have a 30-something song compilation cd for sale post paid for $7.  check it out.  the other link o the week is sub pop records.  i know it's cool to not like sub pop records now, but they really had some cool shit over there.  i don't know about the stuff they got now, but their previous stuff includes releases by: cheap trick, the beach boys, nirvana, the fastbacks, the dwarves, chixdiggit! and more.  you should check them out, and try to weed out all the indie crap.  okay that's all.

ps.  i almost forgot.  the new seven inch is now being distributed on mutant pop records & vital music.  it's that good!!  coming soon to a record store near you.

okay this is just some new shit that's been going on here:

first of all, i'm sorry it took so long for me to update this.  i'm changing this now cos i have a test tomorrow that i don't want to study for.

okay, for all of you who wanna spend money, we have a new (!@!!!!) 7" for sale.  it's our only seven inch and our first REAL legitimate release.  it's called "got the blues" and it's good.  9 songs in 11 minutes.  got the picture?  those songs include: honeymoon in roswell, pop punk wuss, she loves a t-1000, buffy, leo, sabrina, and more.  you won't find a better 7" this millenium.

a lot of people have also been asking about the "hate you!" cd.  about a year ago, when i had a burner in my computer, i copied both smurfs demos into one cd, creating a 36 song cd (60 min) entitled hate you.  but since then, the burner has been ejected from my comptuer.  as people ordered the cd, i would have to go over to friends' places and bum off of their burners.  this has worked in the past, but it is now very difficult for me to burn cds from other people.  basically, i've worn out my welcome, so until i get a new burner, i will not be selling hate you! cds unless you really REALLY want them, and then i'm gonna have to pull some strings.  capeesh?  however, we are still selling tape copies (i know they're crap compared to cds, but this is how we got ours copied in the first place).  they are $2 each, or $3 all together.  post paid.  with that you get lyric sheets, a sticker, and buttons until we run out of buttons, and then we'll just give you an extra sticker.  sound like a deal?  it is.  to order check out the order page for addresses & etc.

some more news for the future: the smurfs will meet again for the summer, but it is doubtful that we will record anything.  nobody has bothered to write any songs.  it's damn difficult when you don't get to meet every once in a while and jam.  but oh well.  maybe next time.  we do have plans to create ONE smurfs page.  right now there are 3 smurfs pages, one created by each member, and we have different prices/addresses/information.  it's something we shoulda done a long time ago.  okay that's all.  watch ghost dog and get those smurfs purchases cummin.
