STUDIO UPDATES

11/10/98
Today was a set up day. After 2 hours of bass drum soundcheck alone, the rest of the day was dedicated to setting everything up. After set up and soundchecks, everything has been put on hold until the week of the 20th, due to the band's hectic schedules.

Hello out there people. Shit was nice and tedious at times today. The day started off with Mike Diquinzio joining Daniel,Ben,and Myself for a quick jam. Mike Started to lay down the bass tracks for "Black Rain" and then Robbie actually showed up, so he laid down his bass tracks. By the end of the day, the bass and drum tracks for Five Head Hatred, Black Rain, and Destiny had been completed. The emphasis over the next few days will be on bass and drums. Then the guitars will be recorded, and finally, the vocals. At times when Ben and Robbie were recording, and Daniel and I had nothing to do, we were busy in the other room playing Golden Eye on Nintendo 64. Daniel kicked my ass all over the place. I suck at that game but its fun to play. Rockets rule.

"Dude, I am so done." Thats what Ben told me today after finishing his drum tracks, while collapsed on the floor. God, he only spent a total of about roughly 22 hours over the course of the past two days recording his drum tracks. I would be beat as hell as well. Today, the remaining songs (No Way Out, Judgment Day, and Tommorrow is a Privllige.) were finished. (As far as the drum tracks go). The bass tracks are now all completed, with the exception of No Way Out. Some of the recording was captured on home video today. I got my ass kicked by Ben at GoldenEye today, during the half hour lunch break. I don't think that game is for me. But its still fun as hell to play even though I suck at it. Anyways, guitars are the next focus, then vocals. Daniel and I are looking forward to that...We've got the good ol' peavy's and Ibanez's ready to go. I think Wednesday, Thursday, and possibly Friday are off days, because of thanksgiving. We have a tenative name for the demo, but I cannot reveal it yet. More on recording as things come together. Later for now.

Well, today was somewhat productive. The guitar for Black Rain got recorded today. It sounds pretty bueno, I guess. Five Head Hatred proved a more tiring song to record, b/c of the trade off solos. Neither Daniel or I are too fond of getting that far in a song and then F#$%ing up. But it happens, so oh well. We also got stuff laid down for Destiny and Tommorrow is a Privillge, today. (Anybody out there have any suggestions for naming that song?) I got home only to get a call from Daniel to tell me that somehow stuff got screwed up and the tracks for Destiny and Five Head Hatred did not record right. So next open day we have to record (while not recording or getting an education in physics and music, time is spent at work, which sucks. Of course, unless I am with the love of my life. Then everythings allways perfect. Anyways.....) we will be Re-doing those songs. Today while waiting for Daniel to arrive home, Ben and I worked on arranging one of the two new songs we have come up with. If all goes as planned, we should be ready to record those just by the time we are ready to hit CD format. Thats all for now, folks. More next time, and Keep the metal alive!!!! Adios Amigos.
