Sorrow
As I enter, I look around, seeing the
quiet sadness around as the reality
finally, unwillingly, sinking in.
I see many friends, talking about
about anything, yet their eyes are
lines with worry and sorrow.

I sit for an hour, listening to
lectures, speeches and poems.
I weep softly and edge my way to the
front if the room, finally seizing a
chance to see my friend. I step over
scattered kleenex boxes, turning the
corners of my mouth to give the three
of the four sisters a small smile.
My heart breaking to see them in so
much pain. I search for the other
sister. I gaze towards the front
and catch a hunched figure with a
shawl over top. My heart heavy and
wanting to be with her, I graze my
fingers on her arm. She turns
around, her face red, streaked
with tears and her eyes are puffy.
She gives me a weak smile and
murmurs through her tears. I embrace
her in a hug and she cries softly
on my shoulder. I feel tears welling
up in my eyes and I try to soothe her
with comforting words, so glad to be
able to see her and give her my
condolence....
