  SPACE GHOST BIO

I'm a superhero. I'm on television. It's the late '60s. I've got my own series (The Space Ghost And Dino Boy),a head full of dreams, and a suitcase full of white leotards.

The show's a hit. Some snapshots: Me and Superman at the Whisky A Go Go. Steering the Phantom Cruiser down Sunset Strip (that's Spider-Man riding sidesaddle). Whirlpool Night with Aquaman and a bevy of earth beauties.

I only work Saturdays.

Then it all changes. One minute I'm holding down a table with Batman and Green Lantern at the Troubadour, the next I'm on the corner of Hollywood and Vine staring dumbly at a copy of Variety. My show is canned.

The '70s are long. Days spent waiting by the phone for calls from Superfriends that never come. Weeks on the auto-show circuit. Shotgun marriage and a bitter divorce. Superman gets a movie deal. I get evicted.

The '80s are the '70s with 40 extra pounds. Producers pull out of my exercise video. Maybe my star will never rise again. But I'm OK with that.

Then comes 1992. A new Cartoon Network. Suddenly, I'm barking into a cell phone and closing deals on a Stairmaster. So what if George Clooney is playing Batman? I've got something no other cartoon superhero has ever had: a burning desire to sing.

This is my time. These are my songs. This is my planet.
