Representatives at Veruca Salt's label(Geffen/Outpost) were quick to deny the nasty cyber-rumors that the recent departure of co-founder Nina Gordon was a reaction to a brief affair that band-member Louise Post carried on with Gordon's ex- boyfriend, Fig Dish singer Blake Smith. According to the gossip, after being dumped by Gordon in favor of Veruca Salt's drummer Stacy Jones, Smith took it upon himself to break up the band by dating Post. It's all very Melrose Place but according to Geffen spokesman, simply "not true." At press time, the status of the band remains unknown. The Fig Dish leader could not be reached for comment.
