Ex-Veruca Salt co-leader Nina Gordon will enter the studio this fall to begin recording her solo album for Geffen. A spokesperson at the label says the earliest they expect to release the album would be the first quarter of 1999.

Gordon's hitting the studio with Stacy Jones, who left Letters to Cleo for Veruca Salt in late 1996. However, she's also been recording demos at Boston's Q Division Studio with Letters' bassist Scott Riebling and lead guitarist Michael Eisenstein, though it's not yet determined if she'll be recording the album with them as well.

Meanwhile, Gordon's former partner in crime Louise Post is reportedly naming her solo debut Veruca Salt, Veruca Salt after the popular TV show Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.
