Stacy Jones (whose first name means stable companion) was born on December 19, 1970 to father Mr. Jones and mother Mrs. Jones. His father worked for Marathon Oil and played the trumpet in his spare time. His mother, who's job at this time is unknown, played the piano. Stacy's parents are responsible for getting Stacy into drumming, as they bought him a toy drum kit when he was five years old.

"My parents bought me this toy drum kit and there's a picture that my mom has blown up and framed. It's pretty excellent. I'm behind this giant bass drum (which actually probably wasn't really that big) and you can just see my head above it. I've got these giant headphones on from my dad, covering my entire head. I'm just sitting there. I'm five years old."

Stacy lived in London as a kid, from second grade to seventh grade. His old house is near alternative music big wig, Gavin Rossdales old house.

As a kid, Stacy remembers going to concerts with his musically supportive parents. He has seen Liberace, Neil Sedaka and Fleetwood Mac. But the one concert that sticks out in his mind would have to be ABBA.

"I remember my first show was going to see ABBA, 1978, Wembley Arena. I would have been seven or eight years old, maybe it was '79. We were living in London at the time so I saw all this crazy shit. ABBA is the one that really sticks in my mind because it was in the round with a full orchestra and rock band and the four of them walking around in white flowing gowns."

In the early 80's, Stacy claimed residency in Findlay, Ohio due to his dads job with Marathon Oil, which would cause his family to move around. While in Findlay, Stacy met Matt Klein, a fellow neighbourhood tyke, who soon befriended him. They started a little garage rock band called Emerald Hawk. "We used to write some tunes and entertain the neighborhood kids." says Matt. They also went to the same school, Glenwood Jr. High School, during seventh grade.
