Ty®, the makers of the popular Beanie Babies®, have come out with a new baby dedicated to Princess Diana. It is called Princess. It is a purple bear, with a little white rose on the left side of it's chest. The tag says :
"Like an Angel, she came from heaven above
She shared her compassion, her pain, her love
She only stayed with us long enough to teach
The world to share, to give, to reach
The color purple signifies the royal purple, and the rose signifies her nickname England's Rose. Ty® said that all the proceeds that they make from the bear will go to Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
My Story
Ever since I heard that there was going to be a beanie baby dedicated to Diana, I wanted one. I nver really understood the whole beanie baby thing, and I still to this day don't. But I still want a Princess® beanie baby. A few weeks ago, my mother and I went looking at an antique store. I was wondering around when I saw a beanie baby stand. I glansed over and to my amazement saw a Princess®. I went over and asked how much it was. The woman replied "$300" ! I couldn't believe something that was made out of material and a few beans was that much. I figured she was just crazy, but the more I asked the more I realized that everyone who was selling them was crazy. I could understand if the dealers where giving the money to one of Diana's charities, but these people are just trying to make a profit off of her tragig death. I may seem a little harsh, but this is how I feel. I am still searching everywhere for one that is a reasonable price. If you find one anywhere PLEASE contact me.
