Begorra began in Fairbanks Alaska during the winter of 1994. Over the years the band played many festivals and shows during their time in Alaska. Accomplishments there include headlining the state fair, opening for punk/surf band Agent Orange, playing Polarpalooza (the University of Alaska's largest outdoor festival), and many other concerts ranging from 200 to 600 people in attendance. In late 1998, the band headed for the Oregon area.
The debut CD, The Commoners Ground, was released shortly after the move, and has sold hundreds of copies in Alaska, Washington, and Oregon. In March of 1999, the band became the first "local" artists to achieve standard rotation on Fairbanks rock radio station 104.7 The Edge, as well other stations throughout Alaska (in both Fairbanks and Anchorage). The Commoners Ground has also received international airplay, reaching rotation on stations in Italy and Brazil. Seattle's world famous 107.7 The End has featured Begorra many times on select shows. Portland's KUFO is now playing Begorra in the standard rotation.
Begorra has gone on to headline various shows across the northwest in some of the most well known venues in Portland, Seattle, and other cities. A west coast tour is now in the planning stages for the band. Stay tuned for more info....
