PM EST Earlier this year, Nirvana In Nirvana reviewed Clarky's Nirvana page. The page was fairly good. It had a lot to work on, however it had quite a lot of potential. A lot of pages these days become discouraged if they feel that nobody likes their site, or perhaps they just do not like it themselves. Sometimes they will not create another one or they do. It is always a good idea to keep trying. Graphics The page looks fairly simple. On the left-hand side, you have a set of places where you want to go. In the center, you have where the things will be at, or the sections you go to. Netscape seems to take a little bit longer time to upload, however Netscape does have a few advantages over Internet Explorer. For example, when you move your cursor over one of the sections, the word will highlight. The "Bootlegs" section does not, however. Now, in Internet Explorer, when you move your cursor over "Bootlegs" you get a blank image. In Netscape, moving your cursor over it will do nothing. Information There are only two areas regarding information. The first one is lyrics. The neat thing about this is that under an image in that section, you have letters. Clicking on a letter will anchor you down to those songs that have that first letter. This is really neat, but the only problem I have would that it should have a "Top" button. One of that latter sections is links, but the links section does deal with information. Right now, however, the webmaster is making a search engine for Nirvana pages. Multimedia There are a little more multimedia sections on this page as compared to informational ones. One problem would be that the bootlegs section does not work, because the 'File Is Not Found.' The pictures gallery seems to offer a little more variety. Here are the listed sections, the number of pictures in each, and my impression of that section:
In addition to pictures, you also have movies. Keep in mind these are only clips, but you can save them but right clicking on it and moving your cursor to 'Save As..' which the page says. A total of fourteen in all. There are only two full-length songs in the sounds section. There are five Real Audio files (two of those are full-length), and two MP3 files. Conclusion Clarky's page has improved quite a bit in many areas. However it still has a lot of work to do. I am quite pleased to see that it has worked very hard. It can improve by making more of the things it has, and making newer sections also. The search engine seems promising. Some ideas for the pictures would be to make smaller thumbnails or 3 to 5 pictures per page. Otherwise, this page is pretty good. I hope keeps up the work it has been doing. |
