As promised this review would be up, well here it is. The banner, or logo for the page is okay. It has a picture of Kurt and "About A Girl, A Nirvana Page," on it, then it has an animated banner saying the same thing. One of the first things you will notice is the Top 25 Nirvana Sites. Now the page seems to be getting simple.
Now things are set up in table form (2x18). The Kurt Murder theory, in most pages, is the article done by Chris White. I do not mind this, however it is in yellow-text and a white background. The best thing to do is to make it a darker background or a darker color. You must understand this is a fairly new page, so I am not going to attack it for not having a lot of pictures. But it does contain an impressive amount, as far as I am concerned. Although nothing new. The background for the hyperlinks (in the pictures) is the yellow smiley-face bunched together.
The lyrics, again contain the yellow smiley-face background. You will find all the albums in a horizontal row, however Wishkah is under Incesticide due to the lack of space. When you click on the album they give you the album name, the people and what they did in the album (minus the producer), and then you have the lyrics: all in verse-chorus-verse form.
The Kurt Obituary, found in most pages, gives some information on Kurt's life and somewhat on his death. You will again see the smiley background, but this time, however, the text is white. In the Sounds section, there are no wav. files, I guess you will have to e-mail them to see if you if want any. The Nirvana background is easily organized, again in white text.
The movie section is very impressive for a beggining page--do not miss this section of the page. The text-version for the "note" is organized neatly. The tabs section, like the lyrics, go horizontal, however this time it is missing Wishkah tabs. They are easy to read due to the fact that they are in bold.
Dave's drummer jokes are also found in this page. In addition, you can vote for your favoritie Nirvana song on this page, actually in another page. You will also be able to see the picture of the death certificate. The links section is mostly full of banners, and one hyperlink to a page. It is interesting that I see the Tom Grant page banner, because I have never seen it before. If you know the death of Kurt pretty well, then you should, and could, take the Murder/Suicide quiz easily.
The Original covers go to another page, and for good reasons. You can hear the covers Nirvana has done, with a list of the bands, and the songs, they did. It will require that you have RealAudio 5.0. Also, you can see the awards he has won, and the webrings he is in. You may also have the time to post a message up in the Nirvana bulletin board.
You can also check out some logos he has done. If you think your page deserves an award, this page has one. At the bottom there is the Top 25 Nirvana Sites (again). There's no need to have it twice. If people will vote for it they will. You can also vote for the best album by using a scroll box. If you do not have ICQ (www.mirabilis.com), you can send them a message providing your name and e-mail, and your message. You can also view and sign their guestbook. Again is the Top 25 Nirvana Sites. The rest are advertisements.
Before I forget, under the table is the links to everything that was on the table.
Conclusion
This is a new page. The thing about new pages is that they will try a little hard to make a good impression. Usually, they will put down fancy graphics and other sorts to emphasize to the visitor that this site is just like everyone else.
However, when a page gets older, the need for original content must be added. So do away with the graphics for now, make it a little simplier, that goes for the table too, unless you can make it smaller. Add more fresh, original content, and that is what will attract the visitors.
