Reviewed on October 5, 1998 @ 6:17 PM Graphics | Infomation | Multimedia | Conclusion A decision that will affect nearly your whole opinion of the page is the graphics. Graphics are important, but they are not the most important thing. Some people disregard pages with "not the best" or "up to date" looks, whereas they have pretty much everything you are looking for. This page establishes upon that rule in a way. It's recommended that you have a resolution of 800x600. When your downloading the page, it seems that it has a gray background, frames, and a lower frame. True, but the background turns out to have a lot of those smiley faces. However the bottom portion of layout is not necessary. The marquee is quite annoying and you are stuck with that for the rest of your trip with the page. On the center of the main page there is really nothing spectacular, just a few links to sign a guestbook and e-mail the webmaster.
Information includes a lot of things. For example, lyrics, which I will discuss first. The lyrics contain the "regular" albums, including b-sides and rare songs. A graphical problem I noticed is that the top frame seems to over-ride the covers of the albums a little bit. The text for the lyrics look nice, but anchors wouldn't hurt, would they? The same applies to the tabs, however it says you can download something, yet I do not see anything that would let me do that. In the discography, that's right, the one you'll fine "everywhere else," I noticed something that I did not notice a long time ago: if a page has information on an album, such as Hormoaning, then why does it not have the lyrics on that page. An idea that I have is that the information should be connected. Put it this way, if your on the tabs section, with a click of a button you should be able to have the lyrics to that song. As we continue down the image map on the left portion of the page, we next go to the links. It does not have a lot of links, I think because webmasters themselves can fill out a form that will put them on the links page, anyway. Finally, you have the version 0.7 of the Concert Chronology; in addition to the text-version of the note. Not a lot here, but here we go anyway. There is the sounds section of the page (MIDI only), which is a little disadvantage because MIDI is not the actual song, moreover, it is more like the keyboard version. However it does save a little space on your hard drive if your are paronoid about it. Nevertheless, if you are a MIDI fan you'll find refugge here somewhat. Finally, there is a JAVA chatroom that this page has. Well, this page does have things to offer in a very compressed menu. If your one of the simple folks, I do not see anything bad about going to this page. If you want a page that is updated a lot, with a much more variety, you might want to go search elsewhere. I hope this page continues to strive hard and work at it a bit, then maybe it will find nirvana. |
