The title of this page is the name of a song from the Fecal Matter demo tape recorded in 1985. Although the tape is not in the best sound quality, does the site have good quality? That's what I'm here to find out.

First things first. You have two sections to go to. And that does not necessarily mean frames. You have a Hi-Fi and a Low-Fi. If you have a Netscape or IE 3.x or higher browser, you can view it in the Hi-Fi, the others can go to the Low-Fi. I do not really see a problem with the Low-Fi, however. It actually seems quite fine, and, actually a little better than the Hi-Fi. The problem is that it is to long horzontially.

wpe4.gif (71118 bytes)The Hi-Fi has a couple of problems. It has an image map. Which means it has an image with all the hyperlinks availabe on the site. The image map is not a problem, but it has a frame that covers the menu map. Personally, I thought the purpose of this was to actually prevent a frame.

The pictures gallery has a total of 124 pictures. All in (large) thumbnail form. I like how it is organized and that it contains some very rare pictures. Not to forget the great quality in which they were scanned, however that depends largely on your graphics card. The first page has 40 pictures, the following two have 48 pictures. Also note this is 10x4 on the first, 11x4 on the last two.

If you are looking for rare songs on Real Audio, then look no further than this page. You have two songs from the April 17, 1987 KAOS demo; 10/31/91 show (from the CD Trick or Treat) also note that not all the songs on the CD are downloadable; unreleased songs, a total of 16 in that section. Overall, a great section for sounds. Another multimedia section is the movies. All of them are linked to MTV's website. I'm not sure if they work. However from my experience they have not.

There are a few problems with the guitar tabs. Although it has all of the albums (disregard Wishkah), and rare songs, none of the links work. The problem with that is the site it links, www.cobain.com, does not exist or it moved the tabs elsewhere.

At least the lyrics work. You have the albums, the same list as the guitar tabs. The albums seem to be "connected" like a film roll horizontally. Another oddity I found was that if you clicked to see the lyrics, the background and text would turn out to be the same as the album. Let's say you picked Incesticide for example. Now, the background would be green, and the text would be red. There is another section called 'Tribute.' Here he tells about Kurt's history, along with some pictures as well. Nothing new here except you will find some personal thoughts. It is quite interesting.

Continuing on with the sounds, you will find a section for MP3 files. Not quite as good and comprehensive as the Real Player section. You will find mostly [rare] songs. Most of the songs are clips, however the last three are full-length versions. In both sections, you have a link in which you can download the program to play the files.

Then you have a chat room. The green chat room, you probably have seen around at some sites. If your browser does not support Java, then there is no reason to go to this chat room. As for the links section, it has an impressive amounts of links. For the most part the links seem to be working fine.

Conclusion

The page is pretty good in graphics, although the only major fault I could see was the frame plus the menu map. The tabs need to be fixed, either the links should be fixed or the tabs themselves should be downloaded onto the site. The content seems rather good. Especially the tribute section. The thing that seemed to stick out the most was the multimedia sections -- or the sounds. The pictures were also good. So, if you are looking for multimedia more than content, this is certainly your page.
