Kurt Cobain.com

Interesting domain name. Sure, we have heard 'cobain.com,' among others. However, through the 30,568 pages I searched, I chose this one, not because of the name, but rather, it seemed interesting. Interesting it is..., let's go to the review.

This page does not excerpt a lot of Nirvana material, given the name 'kurtcobain.com,' it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure what the topic will really be on. Now, there is an opening page with, 'E-mail the webmaster.' And a large clickable picture and a 'Click me' banner below that (they will lead to the next page). Before I go to the next page, there is a nice banner at the top.

The main page is not the most organized. There are, again, clickable pictures leading to whichever you decide to go to. However, I notice that there are not any links for lyrics.  The pictures section have thumnail views of the pictures. These are not rare pictures per se, but a good collection nonetheless. At the bottom of the second page, there is a 'forward/back' button but that one does not work, you will have to use the secondary one which is not near the bottom. Sometimes things will run off the page, especially hyperlinks.

The lyrics are easy to read in the black background with red songtitle and green text. Next are the quotes, and a few good ones actually. However the grammar (or puncuation) is not perfect, or too good. The 'Covers' section is very good. It contains the album covers, bootleg covers, and rarieties covers as well. As for the rare pictures, you may ask, 'Are they rare?' For some part 'yes' and for some part 'no.' But I have noticed some pictures I have not seen before.

The 'poems' section contains a poem by Jim Carroll. In addition the 'Kurt Cobain's artwork' is rather good. It contains more than the 'Mr. Moustache' and 'Bleach band picture.' A great variety of pictures.

Conclusion

Well, that's it. I do feel somewhat dissapointed, but somewhat satisfied. Yes, it was a good page. It contained some very good things: pictures, poem(s), and Kurt's artwork. Any suggestions? Yes. Add more information such as interviews and articles, and possibly a 'links' section, although they are not too important. The graphics on the page were not bad at all, however I think he did the page with HTML alone--get a web page builder if you need one.

I hope this page will improve in the near future..
