If you are not familiar with this page, you
should be. This is one of the most popular Nirvana pages on the Internet today. Not only
does it provide some helpful information, but Reidar is also known for spectacular
graphics and bootleg trading.
Update - There has been a lot of things
that were not included in the October review because they were not available yet.
However some of the things I will mention today are either the ones that are just being
reviewed, or the ones that were in the older review that have been updated.
Concert reviews - This is really interesting.
It gives you another perspective on their shows. Moreover, if you never were
able to go to one of their shows, like many, then you would get an idea of what you
missed. There are a total of 18 shows at this moment, 8 of those are from 1992 and
10 are from 1994. Keep in mind that some shows may have been reviewed more than once. What
is in a concert review? Well, depending on the show, there is usually a summary and
the setlist. My only suggestion concerning this section would be to give out some
information about how to get the show regarding trading, and people who have that show
also.
Howl interview - An interview with Kurt.
You will probably be familiar with this interview if you have read a lot of
interviews already. One of the good things it has is that it gives an introduction.
Graphics - It is not a section. :) But I
thought I would tell you about the graphics that have changed on the site. It has
stayed the same for the most part, but the "Never Fade Away" banner looks more
dirty, as in a sense of a "Seattle" look. Infact, I think this look is a
lot better than the previous one.
Connection
For this page, it is recommended that you use
either Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator. Your desktop resolution should be 800x600.
On Internet Explorer, the download time was 17.5 seconds. On Netscape Navigator, the
download time was 19 seconds.
The connection test was done on a
56k Winmodem connected at 38.6 bps. Remember download times will vary depending on
your modem speed, server of the page, telephone line activity, and your internet service
provide (ISP).
Conclusion
Check the below interview and that conclusion
will pretty much remain the same.
Never Fade Away is published and
owned by Reidar, and is hosted by SOL Medlem services.

Graphics
This is something that you can not disregard
when you come to this page. Reidar has put down, in my opinion, the best and most
organized graphics than any other page I've seen. He has always managed to make a page
that does not take up great length. The black background and two image maps make this
page. The top image map, below the banner, are links to Exploitation Records, Reidar's
very own bootlegs page, and finally, a link back to NFA's main page.

Multimedia
No multimedia stuff on this page. However I
think bootlegs do count. Check out Exploitation Records and the Bootlegs page if you are
interested in trading. He sells them for a fair price and is, from what I've heard, very
cooperative and trustworthy. He has a great variety, so don't miss out!

Information
Not a lot here, but what comes with this small
package is something that is very rare on the Internet: good, reliable, and extremely
original content. He does not post the usual FAQs, or anything like that. However if you
try to click on a link on the image map, and it does not work, it is not there. Let's be a
little sympathetic here. There information that Reidar gets is information that is very
hard to find. When he posts them up it is worth the wait. Information is not the only good
thing Reidar is good at. :)
Here are some information that will be
found on this page:
Kurt and Courtney: nope, not the
movie. It is, however, and analasyst of Kurt and Courtney's relationship. An insightful
look into how they met, their marriage, and after Kurt's death.
Kim O' Connor: Kurt's sister. You'll
find some information that gives some details about her life.
Nirvana On SNL: This gives some
information about Nirvana appearing twice on Saturday Night Live. It tells what
they played and gives some background information about their appearance.
Perfume: Kurt's favorite book, by
Patrick Suskind. The song "Scentless Apprentice" is inspired from the book. It
has two lines from the song, then it gives some information from the book about those
lines, it continues in that manner untill it is finished.
Punk Rock: An in-depth look at the
origns and background of punk rock.
Nirvana Fan's ICQ: ICQ is a program
that you can send real-time messages with someone else. It has a long list of Nirvana fans
ICQ number.
The Germs: Great information
regarding Pat's pre-Nirvana days.
Links: Long list of links. If it is
not satisfying, you can add your own automatically, so it is not in Reidar's hands.

Conclusion
One of my most favorite pages, it has always
been a pleasure reviewing the page. Reidar does his homework in many areas: graphics,
information and trading. Although the page is not updated as much as I would like it to
be, he is nevertheless a busy guy and I respect that. The things he has done and is doing
currently makes up for that. It's no wonder that NFA is a great sucess.
