If there is anything that appeals to 99.9% of web surfers, it has to be graphics. The taste is different from surfer to surfer. If the page they are currently at is not their taste or not satisfying enough in numerous ways, they usually leave.
I remember when I started this page out, and the page reminds me of it. A little simple, and it just goes down all the way. I'd strongly suggest that this page create tables, or divide it up into a much more effecient way, therefore it will be easier for navigation. For what you'll see on the page, a title, a picture of Kurt, and the rest just goes downhill from there.
Another thing about pages nowadays is that they put banners, regardless if they are advertisements or not, is in a special section or on top of the page or all throughout the page for that matter.
The first section regarding information will be lyrics. When you click on the hyperlink, you are promptly brought to the lyrics page. Here you will find thumbnail pictures of the cover of each album, in addition, it has some rare songs. For the most part, each album has all of the songs. However the down side is that the lyrics are centerized and that word again...navigation. The next section is the biography section. Giving a brief paragraph on the band. Just some things I would like to bring up, hopefully that will be added to the biography section. First, Bleach was a small album, however it was well circulated through the college scene. Throughout early 1990-1991, shows were being sold out. You also forgot to mention the In Utero tour. I'm not really sure exactly what the 'A Tribute' section is for. It needs more information on that. The discography section is not all that bad. However navigation seems to be a little problem. The next three informative sections will have the Incesticide, Nevermind, and Wishkah liner notes. Remember Hormoaning? The links are really no problem. Just a few links and some banners, however a lot more would defintely help. Next is the Interviews and Articles section, probably the most impressive thing on this page. Not really any different articles than the usual page, but it does have something to offer -- seven (7) articles/interviews in all. After scrolling down a while, you'll find 'Live Recordings.' A section that gives information about the shows the played, the songs, and the date. After that is a section about the Fender Jagstang and text version of the suicide note.
The first section that is found that is related to multimedia is the pictures section. Now don't come to this gallery and expect something out of the ordinary. The last two pictures are broken. Keep in mind these are not thumbnails and that it looks like a film roll. If you want to listen to a wav. file, you can go to the Song of the Month. I am not sure on how long it is, but it's there. Is the Word Scrabble section under construction at the moment? There's a little quiz you can take, and you can be added to the Winner's floor which is a section of course. You can also visit a chat room, which requires you to register for free. And a message board.
There's a section that gives a 'Thank You' out to everyone who visited. The Smells Like Teen Spirit section just shows the scan of the original lyrics sheet, in my opinion it would be better if it went with the "Smells Like Teen Spirit" lyrics. Seaking of pictures, there is the death certificate. There is a bunch of other things you can do around that site that doesn't realate to Nirvana, but it's worth a try.
A page that has a lot of potential if it keeps working hard at it. If you are having problems with HTML, or web site building, I would suggest going to Grunger's Corner or getting a web page building program like Microsoft Frontpage. As for now, I hope that this site continues to build a foundation on content.
